Putting out parchment Sirius makes his notes and practices the incantations and movements with his left hand as he writing.
The small mouse, now silver, try to escape down the leg of the desk and realizing what is happening Sirius quickly grabs his wand transfigures it back into a goblet which falls to the ground and bangs.
"Sorry, my mouse was trying to escape," says Sirius picking up the goblet and deciding to let it in this form until he had finished his notes.
