It is wonderful to see so many fresh-faces. Some books I would suggest are:
Dubliners, by James Joyce. An amazing collection of short stories of citizens of Dublin. One of my very favorites as the stories progresses as each of the stories shows a character in a different phase of their life.

A Wrinkle in Time-which is one of my favorite science fiction novels. L'Engle has created endearing characters and there are many more stories that follow this one. A exciting tale of time distortions and other worlds as Meg is in search of her father.

Ella Enchanted-by Gail Carson Levine. The very popular movie, but an even better book! A twist on the classic Cinderella tale but the difference being is that this Cinderella is fiery and determined making her the ultimate cinderella heroine.
