Originally sorted into Pukwudgie House, Wesley quickly earned a reputation for being energetic, reckless, and impossible to keep grounded, literally and figuratively. While his grades fluctuated wildly depending on the subject, he excelled in practical magic, especially anything involving movement, instinct, or quick thinking.
Wesley played Beater for his house Quidditch team beginning in his third year and became known for his aggressive flying style and fearlessness on the pitch. Teachers frequently described him as “capable but distractible,” a phrase he grew to hate hearing.
Despite his outgoing personality, Wesley struggled privately with feeling academically behind his peers due to his ADHD. Ilvermorny’s smaller environment allowed him to build strong routines and support systems that helped him succeed.
Leaving the school before his fourth year devastated him more than he lets people know.

Transferring into Hogwarts during his fourth year has been one of the most destabilizing experiences of Wesley’s life. At Ilvermorny, he knew who he was. At Hogwarts, he feels like an outsider stepping into friendships, rivalries, and traditions that already existed long before he arrived.
Though he masks much of his anxiety with humor and confidence, Wesley constantly worries about whether he belongs, socially, academically, and especially athletically.
Making a Hogwarts Quidditch team has quietly become symbolic for him. To Wesley, it would mean that this new life is finally becoming real.

To most people, Malcolm seems larger than life. To Wesley, he’s the person whose approval matters most.
Malcolm has never been cruel or overly harsh, but his high expectations and constant composure have unintentionally left Wesley terrified of disappointing him. Wesley often feels like his father has everything figured out while he’s still struggling just to keep pace. Academic struggles, impulsive mistakes, or losing control emotionally all feel catastrophic in Wesley’s mind because somewhere deep down, he worries his father will eventually realize he isn’t living up to the Blackwell name.
The move to England complicated their relationship further. While Wesley understands why his father accepted the position in the UK, part of him quietly resents how quickly his entire life changed because of it.

Evelyn Blackwell is a Muggle physician. Calm, compassionate, and highly intelligent, she has always grounded the family in practicality and emotional honesty.
Unlike Malcolm’s fast-moving diplomatic world, Evelyn’s life revolves around patience, routine, and helping people one person at a time.
Wesley inherited much of his emotional intuition from her.
Growing up in a mixed magical and Muggle household gave Wesley a broader perspective than many wizard-raised children. Evelyn made sure both her children understood the importance of the Muggle world and never allowed magic to become an excuse for arrogance or carelessness.
She was also the first person to recognize Wesley’s ADHD traits when he was younger. Rather than trying to force him into impossible standards, Evelyn helped him build systems and routines that worked with his brain instead of against it. To this day, she remains the person Wesley goes to when he feels overwhelmed, homesick, or unsure of himself.
He trusts her completely.

Clara currently lives in New York and works for MACUSA, where she’s already developing a reputation for being sharp, ambitious, and terrifyingly competent despite her age.
Wesley absolutely idolizes her. He would also rather launch himself off the Astronomy Tower than admit that aloud.
The two grew up exceptionally close, bonded through constant teasing, chaotic energy, and the shared experience of navigating life between magical and muggle worlds. Clara was often the person who understood Wesley fastest when he became overstimulated or frustrated, usually because she’d already noticed it before he had.
Since the move to England, Wesley misses her more than he expected.
Hogwarts has felt lonelier without her nearby, especially because Clara had always been one of the few people who could calm him down almost instantly when his thoughts started spiraling. The siblings owl each other constantly, usually sarcastic letters filled with insults, Quidditch commentary, and increasingly dramatic complaints from Wesley about British weather and castle staircases.
Underneath the humor, though, both of them know the letters matter.
For Wesley especially, Clara’s owls feel like one of the last remaining pieces of home still within reach.
