Bayou is fiercely loyal but equally distrustful. Trust is not something she gives freely. Outside of her family, and beyond the Slytherin and Hufflepuff houses, she keeps her guard firmly in place. Loyalty means everything to her, which is why she holds such deep respect for Hufflepuffs and their just, unwavering nature. In her eyes, loyalty is not just a trait it’s a standard. She can be a little hotheaded at times, and occasionally irrational when her emotions run high. But once you truly earn your place in her world, you gain one of the fiercest and most devoted friends you could ever have. Bayou protects the people she loves with quiet intensity and unshakable resolve. Though she has a tendency to be a bit clumsy, she carries herself with remarkable confidence. It takes a lot and then some to embarrass her. She knows who she is, even if she’s still figuring out why she is the way she is. On the surface, Bayou is positive and outwardly friendly. Yet her facial expressions can be cool, composed, and difficult to read. She often tries to remain neutral, keeping her emotions carefully locked away. She isn’t entirely sure why she does this, especially since her family is far more open with their feelings. In many ways, she’s a little different from them more guarded, more controlled and perhaps still discovering what that means for her.

Biography;

Baylou Zoelie Earnhardt was born on July 31st, 2107, to Odette and Rhett Earnhardt. Her mother is British, her father proudly Southern American, and Baylou entered the world one month early while her parents were visiting her father’s family in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Burnsville, North Carolina. Her early arrival shocked everyone—but in true Baylou fashion, it was perfectly
on brand. Her birth was a joyous celebration. She became the second grandchild and the very first granddaughter on both sides of her family, instantly adored beyond measure. Baylou has an older brother, Macon Earnhardt, born in London and currently a proud Hufflepuff student at Hogwarts. She grew up in a loving, close-knit home where family has always been everything. Ever curious, Baylou writes frequently to both sets of grandparents and to all her cousins on her father’s side, always eager to compare life at Ilvermorny to that of Hogwarts.

Her parents divorced when she was three years old in 2110, though they remain close and committed to their children. Her mother was the first to remarry, wedding fellow wizard Thomas Fernsby, an Auror, who has a son named Albert from his previous marriage. Baylou affectionately calls Albert her “awesome bonus brother from another mother.” Thomas’s first
marriage ended tragically when his wife became ill and passed away. Odette and Thomas later welcomed two children together: a daughter, Poppy (born in 2114), and a son, Alfie (born in 2116).

In 2112, Baylou’s father Rhett remarried Gardenia Earnhardt, her Irish stepmother whose accent Baylou absolutely adores. A former Slytherin like Baylou herself, Gardenia quickly became someone she deeply respects and feels close to. Rhett and Gardenia have two children together: Ernest (born in 2114) and Rosella (born in 2118). Family is Baylou’s whole world. Like her older brother Macon, she is fiercely protective of those she loves and would do anything for them. Growing up in a beautifully blended family means her year is split between two homes: Christmas break is spent with her mother and stepfather, while summers are reserved for North Carolina with her father, stepmother, and half-siblings. When summer ends, she returns to her mother’s home for another month before school begins complete with the cherished tradition of shopping for supplies in Diagon Alley. Baylou treasures every moment she gets with her family and already looks forward to the day she finishes school when she can spend time with all of them whenever she chooses.

Likes & Dislikes;

Bayou grew up loving Quidditch. She proudly supports the Chudley Cannons and, of course, the Slytherin team at Hogwarts. That said, she wouldn’t exactly call herself a hardcore fan. In fact, she’d much rather watch than play. Ironically, when she does take to the pitch, she’s a natural talent—but convincing her to play “just for fun” is no easy task.

Her true passions lie elsewhere: in both Muggle and wizarding photography, and in ballet. Bayou is incredibly light on her feet and adores everything about ballet; the discipline, the artistry, the storytelling, and especially the chance to wear poofy tutus and experiment with stage makeup. It’s where she feels most graceful and expressive. She also loves to read and write short stories (even if she insists she’s not particularly good at it). A dedicated Gobstones player, Bayou enjoys Care of Magical Creatures, has a deep appreciation for Transfiguration despite not being her strongest subject and absolutely loves History of Magic, which is her favorite class. Outside the classroom, she finds joy in hiking and exploring, always eager to discover something new. Whether she’s behind a camera lens, at the barre, or wandering through the outdoors,
Bayou thrives in moments that allow her curiosity and creativity to shine.

Interests;

Bayou lives her life through lenses and pages. You will never see her without her camera in one hand and her journal tucked safely in her bag. She keeps her camera close, always prepared to capture a passing shadow, a perfect beam of light, or a fleeting moment of beauty.

Inspiration can strike anywhere, and she refuses to miss it. Inside her journal, she carefully documents her favorite photography locations. She returns to the exact same spot every season, taking the same photograph again and again, watching as the world shifts around it. Winter frost, spring bloom, summer glow, autumn gold each image becomes part of a quiet collection.

When she’s home, she hangs them in her bedroom like a gallery of memories, a visual reminder of the calm and peace those places bring her. Tucked beside her camera and journal are her ballet pointe shoes. Bayou carries them everywhere, just in case the moment calls for movement. Ballet is discipline and artistry woven together something she refuses to neglect. Whether practicing in a studio or finding space wherever she can, she keeps her very important skill set sharp, graceful, and ready.

Even in the smallest details, her aesthetic remains consistent. She loves painting her nails and toes, keeping three colors in constant rotation: any shade of blue, any shade of teal, and a beautiful bright turquoise. Cool, tranquil tones, like deep water and open sky, perfectly reflecting
the calm, creative world she carries with her.

Goals & Future;

Bayou isn’t entirely sure what her future holds and she likes it that way. She may attend wizarding university first... or she may follow wherever her free spirit decides to lead her. For now, the unknown feels more exciting than frightening. What she does know is that she has dreams big, beautiful ones. Bayou would absolutely love to become a professional ballerina and dance all over the world, performing on grand stages and living through movement and music. The idea of dedicating her life to ballet fills her with determination and wonder.

At the same time, she’s equally drawn to becoming a professional wizarding world photographer or even pursuing photojournalism. Capturing powerful moments, telling stories through images, and traveling to document the world around her deeply appeals to her artistic soul. Of course, she knows that if she chooses photojournalism, she’ll need to strengthen her writing skills something she’s fully aware of and quietly working on. No matter which path she chooses, Bayou hopes her future is filled with creativity, passion, and the freedom to explore. Whether she’s dancing beneath stage lights or chasing the perfect
photograph, she wants a life that feels as alive and inspiring as she does.
