~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ Claimed by Bits ❤️ ~ Queen of Typos ❄ Magical Mosh Pit ❄ Charlie had looked over his first salamander friend and decided it had no traces of scale rot or any form of physical injury. “I give you a clean bill of health,’’ he told the creature and watched it scuttle off back into the lava flow. Perfect timing on that part too since the lesson was moving on into a rainforest.
Just look at all the trees, shrubs and everything else! Charlie was in awe, quite forgetting that he wasn’t actually out in Guyana, Brasil, Columbia or one of the other nations through which the Amazon Rainforest passed through. Perhaps the only thing he did not enjoy was the humidity. This discomfort was pushed aside so that the search could begin for the salamanders native to this environment.
Deciding to stalk the trees, Char focused his attention on those. You know what stuck out against all that green? The stark purple skin of the Peruvian salamander. However, he was horrified to also come across his very first case of scale rot. The flakey scales were not hard to miss as well as part of the salamander where the scales had completely fallen off.
The poor little creature. “Hey, friend.” Charlie approached the low branch on which the salamander was perched. The salamander watched him blankly; it was probably too miserable to care. “We’ll have you patched up in no time. Just hold still, okay?” Taking some chilli powder from the pouch {yes, the gloves were still on}, the Puff applied it carefully, glad that this salamander was a fire one; Paton’s words about chilli powder and frost salamanders still rang clear in his head. In no time, Charlie was done applying the powder {thankfully the salamander hadn't ran away}. “You’ll be fine now, just you wait.’’ Hang in there, buddy! |
