When the seconds hand hit where it needed to be, EXACTLY seven minutes later, Evan dropped the three jabberknoll feathers in his hand into his cauldron. Once those had been thrown in, once again he marked down the seconds hand for another seven minutes to pass.

Nervous to be a second over, he again stared at the hands instead of trying to use his timer again. One would have thought that seven minutes would go by SO s l o w l y while staring at a clock, but really it felt rather fast. In no time at all, it was time to add the remaining three feathers. And... from what he could tell, it appeared like his potion was the purple it was supposed to be.... Or was that a shade too light? It was nearly impossible to be able to tell. Had he messed up on his seconds?

Either way... there was no explosions or anything to say he'd been wrong, so he went ahead and continued on as if all was well. Since he also didn't know that it wasn't either. It was time to adjust the heat, turning it up to a medium. Grabbing his armadillo bile and a teaspoon, Evan began to dish it out - one teaspoon at a time until all three had been added. Once again, the potion changed colors.

And yet... he was fairly certain this time that wasn't the right color. It looked far too dark to be considered a navy. Still, no explosions though, so he might as well have seen it through at this point. The important thing was the attempt to complete the potion right? This was one of the most difficult things to brew; he highly doubted Professor Hernandez was expecting perfection out of them.

Even if that was desperately what he wanted to provide.

Once again, time to stir. Starting at the 12 spot, he went around 7 times clockwise, before pulling his stirrer back out and reached for the runespoor egg, dropping that in, before going back to the clock for a final time.

This time was even MORE important to stare down the clock, as it was 7 minutes and 7 seconds exactly. Time went by quickly, and before he knew it, it was already time to cast. He'd pulled his wand from it's holster around the 5 minute mark, so that he'd be ready once time. One clockwise circle over the cauldron, and a soft yet firm "Recordo!".

The aconite roots were next, well.. technically last. He managed to pick up the three roots, dropping them in one, after another, after another.

Consulting his book again on what the potion should look like now, Ev compared the bright blue smoke... to that of what it SHOULD have looked like as a pale blue.

He'd most definitely gone wrong somewhere. The best he could do know was pour over it all again and try to figure out where the mishap had happened, whilst feeling quite frustrated with himself in the meantime.
