| Steps 1-7 + Florrie + Q for Hernandez :3 Jedi Master•General Iroh•Java Junkie• King ♛ Stefan •Mycroft Holmes•Dragon Lord•Druid Boy Of course, Noah would know about inflation of prices at the very least, since his family owns 'Prima Materia', a company that deals with the production of potions, specifically healing ones that are used in St. Mungo's, perhaps here in Hogwarts as well, and in other countries. While there was a need to pay the wages of the people who work for their company, those who run it would also need to make profit to continue its work. That's how business worked. However, Kinsay's answer made an impact...and maybe sparked an idea that would be worthy of discussion with his great-grandpa.
After copying everything that was written on the board, Noah turned to Florrie and offered her a small smile. "Hey, thanks for partnering up with me. I'll get going," he said, pointing back at his station. It looked like they were going to brew the difficult potion individually. Too bad though, because he wanted to stay and brew it with Florrie. Gathering his parchment and tucking his pen behind his ear, Noah went upfront and collected his ingredients and went straight for his workstation.
Out of habit, he checked all of his ingredients again, and after that, went ahead to retrieve his cauldron, beakers, stirring rods, and burner. Those too were scoured and cleaned before rolling up his sleeves to wash his hands. Potions protocol, yes? Of course, his goggles and dragon-hide gloves were also worn, understanding that he was going to handle toxic ingredients. (A step he almost missed during his Potions OWL which could've resulted in a huge points loss.)
Setting the beaker on top of his first burner, Noah emptied the syringe of milk into it, and began to heat it under a medium flame as instructed. He eyed the clock up front, marking the start time and the exact positioning of the minute hand that would indicate his 3 minutes was up. While the milk was happily simmering in his beaker, Noah went on to clean his cauldron the second time, filled it with water halfway, and waited for the milk to finish its purifying stage. After 3 minutes, Noah turned off his first burner, and levitated the beaker off of it, and added the hot milk carefully into his cauldron. The mixture was then put under the heat of a low flame from his second burner. Reaching for his silver knife, he carefully picked the fluxweed from his tray, and began to chop it as finely as he possibly could. Scooping it up carefully with his knife and hand, Noah added the ingredient to his cauldron, stirred the mixture 7 times clockwise, waited exactly 10 seconds for the mixture to rest, and then sprinkled the dog fur on top of the liquid as evenly as possible. Noah took a peek, and was relieved to see the potion turn into a nice shade of green. Not sure if it was the correct shade, however.
The Gryffindor eyed the clock, counting 7 minutes forward, and took note of it. While waiting, he looked around for the professor and held up his hand, "Professor, about the dog fur, will the breed of the dog make a difference in the potion's efficacy? Or is it enough that we use any as long as it's tame?" he said, pressing a gloved finger on his open textbook.
