While he had thought they were going to be late, it appeared that they might be the first ones here. ”We aren’t early? Are we?” Conley asked turning Sachin. For some reason, the idea of them being the first ones here made him feel old. On the other hand, he was just glad this year’s event wasn’t taking place in the greenhouses again.
He hadn't had time to go home and instead had changed into a satin blue suit and matching mask in his office before coming own to the atrium.

Adam hadn’t planned on buying a new suit. The green one he had worn to the last gala/ball/ministry dancing thingie had been perfectly fine. It wasn’t like he had the need to wear suits often and it had been a couple of years, but for some reason, he had found himself purchasing a new suit because he hadn’t been able to find a suitable matching facemask for his green suit. The mask felt a little pointless to him, and because he couldn’t ear his really ugly glasses, he was going to have a hard time navigating things tonight. The only reason he hadn’t pulled out his old support cane was because Zita had agreed to come with him. And for that he was very grateful, not to mention he was excited to show her off. Just because he couldn’t see her, didn’t mean others couldn’t. That being said, he wasn't sure how he was supposed to introduce her to people. "How are ve to know each ozzer?" he asked Zita, reaching for her hand.

As much as Z hated the ministry she wasn't going to pass up an evening to get all dressed up. She still enjoyed putting on a show with her looks and this was the perfect opportunity to have Adam's coworkers be really jealous that he was with her and they weren't.

She searched and searched for the perfect dress and she felt she had found it. In the dark purple long gown, heels, and mask Zita was ready for the party. Her arm was around Adam's and she thought he looked amazing this evening though she was worried that he would struggle without his glasses. As they walked in she couldn't help but think about the last time there was a more formal event in this very spot. It wasn't until Adam's question that her thoughts left and she found herself blinking at him.

What? He was joking, right? "I would think after two years you would call me your girlfriend, unless she are embarrassed to be with me in front of your coworkers."

Maybe this night wasn't going to be all she had thought it would.

SPOILER!!: Charles

He supposed it couldn't hurt, this change up, and that more formal...even regal events for the Ministry were just as good as the more wholesome and intimate settings he often leaned towards. He was dressed for the occasion as well, donning robes of warm yellow and vermillion with a crown upon his head that he felt was a bit too much even for himself. Though this too he had been assured was perfect for the occasion. Slipping his mask on before emerging from the shadows (the muggle prime minister had been in for a true treat of the eyes this evening during their monthly meeting prior to the Minister for Magic's arrival to the Atrium), Charles took a moment to steady himself and drank a bit of tonic brewed by Airey. He had been quite taken aback by the Mysteries' head's offer and skill with a cauldron, he had not know the man in such capacity, but the tonics were helping immensely with the fatigue he had been feeling as of late.

Posture straight, Charles stepped into the romantic lighting of the Atrium seeking out Victoria to greet his employees and their guests. "Good evening, Ministry," he bellowed jovially, though with a little less luster than the norm, while politely waving his hand to each in passing. He was quick to note the younger Miss, rather he assumed she was a Miss seeing as she was unaccompanied, and made his way over to her. She...may have been one of the new faces he had passed off to Bain to help conduct the background checks necessary for new employees. "AND a good evening to you," he smiled warmly at her.

She knew Charles was not a fan of the more formal orientations, but Victoria couldn't help but smile at the way the ministry looked and how handsome he was looking, though she watched him for a bit with a worried expression. She feared the stress of the job was wearing on him and he wasn't fully taking care of himself. They had been together long enough now that she felt she could read him pretty well, but she wondered if she needed to be more attentive to make sure he was sleeping and eating enough.

In her navy blue gown and matching mask she greeted all the employees as she made her way over to the minister of magic. "Well minister you really do clean up nice." Her smile grew as she thought about the holiday and how she wished they could have had just a little more time, but work was upon them, though she had worked over the break with quidditch still going.

"Have you seen Alana at all?" Her daughter wouldn't come with her of course, she said about needing to find her way on her own. So she didn't press it further and figured she'd just see her here.

Entering the ministry made Alana nervous. She had been there before, but not as an official employee. She was excited for this new adventure and the doors that she could help open if it all worked out. She knew squibs were more equal in some ways, especially with her mother working as hard as she had any chance she could get to advocate for squibs, but now that she was working at the ministry and in the ministry office she was going to fully prove they were valuable.

Checking her watch and hoping she wasn't late the blonde made her way towards the food table. Her silver mask matching her dress made it a little hard to see, but she found a plate and decided she would check out the sweets before doing anything else.
