After gathering some snacks with his spending money, the third year found himself an empty compartment towards the back of the train. He gingerly placed the cat on the seat, letting her sniff around while he dug into his suitcase. Pulling out a large, soft blanket, he folded it nicely, laying it in the corner of the seat and placing Daisy upon it. He smiled. “Nice and comfy now, huh?” She gave him a slow blink, still purring loudly. “You’re absolutely spoiled.” He chuckled, shaking his head as he tore open a package of licorice wands.
With his robes now on and his chocolate frog safely tucked away in his pocket, it was now time for him to be the good seventh year that he was, or at least trying to be, and do a quick patrol of the corridor. Sure, last year he’d done all of his prefect duties to the best that he could but somehow, he figured that his first year would always be tarnished by the loud shouting match he’d got into with the former astronomer professor. But this year was a new year so there was no use worrying about old mistakes, even if he was right.
With a polite knock on the door, the tall prefect opened the door and popped his head into the crack of the door, the polite smile on his face being replaced by a grin as he was met by the sight of a younger boy talking to his cat.
”You spoil that cat anymore and it’ll be following you to lessons”. Spoiling your pet wasn’t a bad thing though. He’d seen too many animals go to homes that didn’t look after them so it was nice to see that the boy cared.
