Alright, first downside to this: he had to pull people from their work. Or, he had at this very moment. And usually, the DMLE's work is important, time sensitive and requires some deep thought. Pulling people from their work was a big no-no, and honestly if someone had stopped him from trying to decipher those wards last week he'd have punched them in the face.
Well... hopefully not. But it's very easy to assume he would have liked to. His tendency to punch people over annoyances had mellowed out over the years - a good gym technique and some focused therapy will do anger management issues wonders - but he was still very capable of it all the same.
