Highly feared... lethal... incredibly harmful... Sounded a bit like old Headmaster was describing himself. Natalie briefly wondered if he had ever killed anyone and decided that she wouldn't put it past him. THAT was why she didn't want to tick him off. Even though it was incredibly easy to. But she seemed to just mildly irritate him, so she thought that was pretty good.
Natalie had made it somewhere near the front of one of the lines heading toward the forest. Red Caps. Little things that bludgeon its victims to death. Natalie supposed the best defense to those was to act confident and to pretend like you're NOT lost, since that was who they typically attacked: lone, lost travelers.
"The Disillusionment Charm," Natalie said, as she raised her hand. "You can hide yourself from them so they can't see you." And that seemed like a good defense to her. Just like ignoring your problems until they went away.
