Family Life:

Faith Chosen has always been a privileged child. Despite being only the second child of her parents, she already had two brothers from their previous marriages, which made her the fourth child of what would soon be seven – the triplets would come a few years later, two boys and a girl.

Nuri is everyone's favourite brother, and Faith is no exception to the rule. He was the one who was closest in age to her until the triplets arrived, and even then, there was only so much Faith could do with kids who came with their own built-in playmates. But Nuri was five whole years older than she was, and by the time she was six, he was off to Hogwarts. But even from Hogwarts, he was her voice of reason, the positive influence to Echo's carefree attitude. He'd laugh at her every time she inadvertently got herself into trouble, sure, but he was more often than not the one who got her out of it.

Faith loves all her siblings dearly, and seeks each one out for different reasons. Echo gets her in trouble, Nuri gets her out. Essence does her thing, and Faith imitates her as best she can and fails. She looks out for Kodee, Jolie and Ivory, and lets them believe they look out for her too. Without her family, Faith Chosen probably wouldn't know who she is.

But being from such a big family isn't always so great. Faith suffers from severe Middle Child Syndrome, and will go to great lengths just to be noticed, something that earns her more than her fair share of point deductions and detentions. She also finds that she doesn't quite know who she is, and always seems to want to be more like others, uncomfortable in her own skin. She feels responsible for looking out for her siblings, but never feels capable enough since the older siblings would always do it for her.

She had Uncle Legend and Aunt Alexis too and that meant that there were very few things she could do without them finding out somehow, and she'd always lived in the fear that she'd never be able to break free of that shadow.

It wasn't until Nuri left Hogwarts after her second year that she began to try existing in spaces he didn't, and picking up photography. That's not to say that her family doesn't support her hobbies -- they do, and her mother developed her film rolls regularly until Faith learned to do them herself in a makeshift dark room -- but she hadn't tried to do something that she hadn't already seen her brothers do, and photography was like liberation.

You'd be hard-pressed to see her without a camera now, and takes photos now for the school yearbook (a co-curricular her parents are glad for).

They haven’t spoken in ages, but every time Marisol Grant walks into the Great Hall, Faith’s heart seizes painfully.
