So apparently the kid was not an imaginary friend made flesh by the incredible stench. No wisdom to be shared by this figment. And if there wasn't a point to the stench, then why were they still standing so close to it?

Dot scooted back several big steps and blasted the air in front of them with a gentle wind charm. Not much better, but certainly a help. "It probably wouldn't do any good. Smart people from the Ministry, tons of professors, the Board... I'm sure lots of people have tried to fix this. Or at least fix the smell."

Did that mean they shouldn't try?
