Jace has been silent all that time as he listened carefully to his teacher. Did the opening feast upset him too? Because...why subject them to a test already, when the teacher’s supposed to teach them first, right? But then again, he’s a Ravenclaw like his papa, so he is confident he’ll get through this test with flying colours. He has been practicing basic spells ever since he stepped in school, and he did come across the two particular basic spells in front of him.

Turning, he approached his cabinet, and got his wand from his holster. The confidence and focus his cherry wand gives, made the half Japanese relax more, and more headstrong to get the job done. Jace went through the spell’s definition and history inside his head, as he muttered the spell under his breath. He’s thankful too that his ‘r’s are rolling off better now, than four years ago. “Alohomora.”

Alohomora. Unlock. Open.

Jace concentrated on his cabinet, and performed the spell with confidence. “Alohomora.” Click. Jace pulled the handle, but was surprised to find it still locked.
