Even though Zander had purposely isolated himself from most of the others in class, he was actually quite relieved when he saw Ethan heading over. You know, friends actually made Herbology a little more bearably. Especially that first lesson where Grayson came over. Really, the older Slytherin was probably the only reason why Zander had even participated that lesson. Then there was that whole fire thing too, so that kept him on his toes as well.

But either way, Zander gave Ethan a half hearted smile, and returned that sup nod, with the best one he could do. Merlin, his nodding skills definitely needed more work. Maybe he could ask Grayson for lessons or something one day, that guy was like a professional. Right, anyways. Was it just him, or was Ethan not acting like his usual care-free self? Did the Slytherin hate Professor Grumps too?

Turning his attention to the horrible man, Zander's small smile from before had vanished again. That stupid voice. It was a constant reminder of how he wasn't good enough. How he was a "disgrace" to his house. "The plant will be unwell if you don't treat it with the proper nurturing, care, and respect that a herbologist ought to treat his plants with," his eyes slightly narrowed as he spoke. "So you'll know if it's unwell if you treat it in a way that it shouldn't be treated. 'Cause even though you have more power than the plant, it doesn't mean that the plant hasn't got feelings. They don't deserve to be undermined." Ahem. He was totally talking about the plants here people. No hidden meanings what-so-ever *whistles*.
