Was it the draft that opened his door, or was it the man’s doing? With brows furrowed, Ethan decided to take a peek. He wasn’t sure what he’ll find seeing that it was going to be his first time in his office. Knock, knock.
The door was already ajar, but Ethan still knocked twice before pushing it a bit, and allowed his head inside. “Professor? Are you in…” Ethan trailed off as he saw the man on his chair, obviously not in the mood. The blond boy felt a knot form inside his stomach, obviously guilty about disturbing the potions master one day after the feast, but then his door opened for him apparently. So...does that mean he's welcome to come inside? Culloden may be a master when it comes to masking his state, but the way he carried himself at that moment told Ethan something was amiss. "Hi." he said as he sheepishly grinned at the man. "Is this...a good time to visit you, or...should I go?" Because if not, he'd be more than happy to return to the Snakes' Pit. Cosgrach didn't even hear the knocking as he was busy hoping it was someone he liked. And... it was. He nodded at the boy once, but couldn't return the smile. Ethan would understand it, though, as evidenced by his question. The older man waved his hand to invite him in. "You may come," he said and gestured at the chairs in front of his table, "please." He got up too, and sat at a chair - he didn't like having a table between himself and the person that came to talk. Text Cut: TTO Quote:

Didn't hurt to try to butter him up, did it?
At the suggestion that he wouldn't bite, Soph forced brief, light laughter, but she still knew better - he was sensitive with negative emotions right now and anything she said or did could set him off. So. She'd still tread lightly. "Okay." The Ravenclaw did sit, and she did her usual curling up in the armchair - but it was a little strange that he chose to sit in his chair instead of the one next to her. He'd never done that before - they'd always sat together, like two friends talking instead of a professor discussing business with a student.
The discomfort and uncertainty about the whole situation might have shown in her eyes, but she offered him a smile nonetheless, just... looking at him. A little awkwardly. She'd come to find out where he'd been, but he didn't seem to want to talk about it, and she'd already told him about the feast and what he missed... and he already knew all about her summer... sooooooooo...
...
The usually talkative fourteen-year old just sat there, smiling uncomfortably at her mentor and racking her brain for something... anything...????
"Did you hear about Adi and Ethan? FOURTH YEAR prefects. Pfffffft. I love Ethan, he's a great guy, but if any of us fourth years shoulda been prefected before the usual fifth year, it should've been me." Her tone was very playful and sarcastic in a poor attempt to distract Culloden from whatever was plaguing him, but certainly the man knew she was a little serious, too. "I mean, okay, Ethan's a spot-on choice, honestly, but why FOURTH YEAR ADI when Tobes is a FIFTH YEAR Hufflepuff boy who's perfect in every way and can do anything and would be debatably the best prefect the whole world's ever seen??? Explain THAT one." He couldn't, could he?
But maybe she was a little biased. Cosgrach chuckled once, but didn't comment on it. He was thoroughly proud that she thought he would be better, but he wasn't going to discuss that with her.
...well?
Cosgrach felt the heavy mood in the room - how he put the table between them for the first time and her anxious glances - but he chose to ignore it and return her glances with a questioning one of his. And anyway, if she wanted to know why he missed the feast, she should ask -
...
First, his left eyebrow was raised; then the sides of his eyes were wrinkled and the next second, he was grinning and shaking his head to himself. "Someone's passionate about her boyfriiieeeend," he sang in his terribly manly voice, "and also ambitious. But you've got to admit, Jasmine's better than you." He winked, albeit his mind was still clearly on something else. "I honestly can't see what's so perfect about Tobias. If anything, Adi's conversation is better, he's more social and has better grades too." He shrugged and started looking at her curiously to hear what she would say.
Hehehe. Hehe. He. "The Headmistress is waiting me for a meeting," he said softly before he let her speak. You could say he was politely dismissing her. "Shall we walk together until second floor?" So you must say he wanted to speak to and tease her. He just had to be a responsible professor now. Text Cut: lmao Kevin Quote:

....Did that mean he could enter ..or? Shrugging his shoulders , the third year got up from the chair and walked to the office. Honestly, was the man THAT lazy he didn't even open up the door in person? Well...he was old right? Not Botros old ..but old, the man had greyish hair!
Seeing the professor sitting on one of the chairs, Kevin walked towards one of the smaller chairs and of course without asking if he could sit he sat down. "We" he said as he took off his hat "Need to talk" ...great.
A perfect way to start the year. First, he'd missed the Feast due to a terrible night. Now he was visiting him.
Cosgrach let out a very stressful breath through his nose and watched the boy. He didn't say anything when he sat down, was even pleased when he took his hat -
...no.
Cosgrach raised both of his eyebrows, but it wasn't in shock. It was OBVIOUSLY in anger and his face grew threateningly pale, only to turn to scarlet as blood rushed to his brain. "One more disrespectful behaviour, and we'll have a nice detention." Clear as that.
Now... "What would you like to discuss?"
