"Thanks," she added at the girl's welcome, already convinced that Ravenclaw had to be the best house.. most everyone she met seemed super awesome. "Everyone has been so welcoming so far." Like they were really glad she was here, and that made her feel really special and happy to be here. She had a cool name? Yeah, she supposed. Sophie liked it a lot, at least. "Thanks. I'm glad - we've got a good group. A cool Head of House, good student leaders, and everyone tends to get along really well with each other." Well, there were occasional disputes among members of the house, but for the most part, Sophie thought Ravenclaws as a whole were fairly drama-free with each other.
With the other houses? Perhaps that was a different story.
Familiar face after familiar face entered the common room, and Sophie offered a smile and wave back to Hope, Lily, and anyone else who acknowledged her. The family was all together. It felt like home. Quote:

A ball of energy had arrived and, though she couldn't blame the older girl for being excited to be back at Hogwarts, Sophie tried to hide her amusement. But the girl knew her name? That was nice. "That's me. Well, hi, then - it's nice to meet you.... creepy?" She looked to Mo, her eyebrows raised. "Is that your preferred nickname?" And if not, why hadn't the girl introduced herself properly?
Creepy indeed. Quote:

"Hi Professor," he said with a grin, before scooting over to Sophie and Mo and ickle firstie!person. "Ahoy there! What have I been missing whilst toad hunting?" 'Ahoy'? Sophie giggled. "Hi Benjy." She turned around to look at Mo, not minding if he pulled her hair in the process - what Gryffindor had Benjy been kissing? Did he have a girlfriend? Why would Mo hit him for it? She observed Benjy's reaction to this curiously, though, and was even more interested in if he WAS going to go out for Quidditch or not. "Please?" she encouraged, her expression turned sad and puppy-like. Quote:

"Just... never seem to say the right thing to our Head of House. Dora's allergic to chickens?"
Idiot.
He smiled at the firstie and saluted her with the brush before turning his attention to Sophie's hair. "I"m going to do a single plait. No need to be fancy. Okay?" Nothing was wrong. Which... was why his hair was all messed up and he was acting totally zany. Okay. Did their Head of House really have that kind of effect on him? "Plait away." She wiggled, getting herself comfy on the floor and leaned forward, hugging Mo's gift to her chest. "I have your birthday present, by the way. Right here. Told ya I wouldn't forget. But you don't get it till I can see your reaction and you have hair to braid right now." So she kept it safe on her lap. "Are you saying 'no need to be fancy' because it takes too much time and you're just trying to prove a point," she turned her head to the side so he could see her playful grin, "or 'cause you don't know how to be fancy with it?"
