Hogwarts RPG Name: Adrienne Rebecca Colbert Seventh Year | Astronomy Post 3 The Last of Her Kind Quote:

She glared at the chicken. Maybe if she got angry at it, it would cook better. No, apparently not... The heat from her gaze didn't warm it up enough. Heat. "Solis Focalis." she contributed another stream of brilliant sunlight to the roast. More heat.
She might feel like this wasn't a lost cause if the meat had started smoking. Or even changed color a bit. But no, this chicken was still as slimy and pink and disgusting as it was when they first brought it in here. Billywig rot, this was going to take forever! Adrienne drummed the fingers of her right hand on the windowsill as she held her left hand steady. "How am I supposed to know?" she snapped. It wasn't like she cooked. She concentrated for a few more moments, trying to intensify the beam of light, but so far, no luck. Tora joined her, which was nice, but it wasn't particularly helpful, from what she could see.
She couldn't decide whether this was actually a terrible idea or if she was just bad at its execution. Hopefully she wouldn't get a bad grade on Astronomy homework, though, because that would suck. First homework of the year, and already Adrienne wasn't doing so well? Ugh.
That's it, she'd had enough. She pressed a finger to the spot where the sunlight had been focused, and to her chagrin it was only slightly warm, even in comparison to the rest of the chicken, which was pretty cold. Adrienne sighed, ended the spell, and stood up properly. "That's it, I give up. I will just say it was cloudy or something." Always blame the environment, if possible.
