But she wasn't sure who exactly, but she looked like someone. No lying.
Oh. Haha. Kid's got style. "Nice to meet you," Kat said... but she didn't agree with the 'regular Slytherin' part. "No Slytherin is just 'regular', you know." They were sorted into SLYTHERIN for a lot of good reasons. The Most Noble House of Slytherin, yeah. "Of course it did," Sophie said with a grin of pride. "Most of family ended up in Slytherin. There's my grandfather and pretty much his entire side of the family, then there's my grandmother who's the Head of House here, and then there's Aunt Sierra, who graduated two years ago." She gave another grin of pride after rattling off her Slytherin family members. Pride. She had it.
Sophie laughed. "I know I'm not regular. I meant it more like, you gave me your title, Head Girl, so I gave you mine," she said with a shrug. "But I know you what you mean. There's greatness here, except, well..." She cast a glance in Cutty's direction but otherwise trailed off with that train of thought. Text Cut: SlytherinSistah Quote:

He sat up very erectly when she mentioned his name. "It's an English name, So-pheeet in yer pipe and smoke eet!" He said, exaggerating the pronunciation of her name and tagging a line to the end of it in effort to try to make it sound as if it were as funny as his own. "Love?" she commented, a less than enthusiastic look on her face. Okay, that just sealed the deal. Cutty Mordaunt thought he was all that and a bag of jelly slugs, and only time would tell if he had any bite to that bark. Then he went on to say something about his name, or maybe her's, but she honestly couldn't tell what he was getting at it.
She might have just ignored him after that, but caleb piped up then... Text Cut: Lissy Longbottom Quote:

He knew that their father would never ACTUALLY be mad at them because of where they were sorted. In fact he'd probably be super interested to hear what life was like as a snake! "For some reason, I didn't think we'd end up in the same house. But I'm glad we did," he added, his voice dropping as he spoke. He didn't want to make it seem like he NEEDED his twin sister there, in case any older kids were listening but...he WAS happy she was there with him. It made everything seem EXCITING rather than SCARY. "Well, anyways, onto the real important bit - I always knew you'd be Slytherin. But what do you think about ME being a Slytherin?" he asked her with a coy grin. Up until a few moments ago, even HE hadn't been certain he'd end up here.
Despite the fact that everyone Caleb had met so far seemed to be pretty cool, there WAS a dude nearby who seemed to be a bit full of himself. He caught Sophie's glanced and smirked back at her, but suddenly, his tone changed. What had he just called his sister? LOVE? NO ONE TALKED TO SOPHIE LIKE THAT. "Oi, that's my sister you just called looov, mate," he said, exaggerating the word to try and mimick his accent. Who did this kid think he was? Caleb wasn't all that into breaking rules but he'd break a few bones if he needed to protect Sophie from crazies.
At first, Sophie was annoyed that he tried taking up for her. She could hold her own. She didn't need anybody to go to bat for her. But then, the more she thought about it, the better it seemed to have an ally. "It's okay, Caleb. Cutty can be full of himself all he wants," she said in a challenging way, "but only time will tell if he has anything in him to back up that bark." She grinned slyly then changed the topic back to what Caleb had originally been talking about. "Dad? Hmm. You know his personality more than I do, I think, but...I'm kind of wanting to say he's not going to be as understanding as Mom is," she answered. "Mom's used to Slytherins. They're all over her side of the family tree, but Dad? He's pre-Lion all the way." She made a face. "I'm just glad I didn't end up there." "Being in the same house has its good points. You're a good ally, so it makes me feel like I have a little more power to my punch, you know," she answered. "I thought you'd be a Gryffindor, to be honest, but I like you better here. We need more snakes in our immediate family." They were a lot easier to tolerate than Gryffindors, she thought. Text Cut: Kitten Quote:

"So is there anything your looking forward to about Hogwarts?" she probed, figuring that asking the girl questions might not just get her to open up, but also stop this conversation from reaching an awkward end... "Yeah, it's full of greatness. Most of my family members were Slytherins, and my grandmother's our Head of House," she answered. Almost as if it was on cue, she cast a glance up to the staff table, seeing basically no familiar faces. There was that Astronomy professor she'd met in Diagon Alley, but other than that, she was at a loss.
Hearing the girl speak again, Sophie turned back to her own house table. "Pretty much everything, although I know that's not very specific. Since I'm a first year, everything's new to me, so it'll be exciting experiencing everything for the first time," she said. "I want to write home to my parents, too. They were both Gryffindors, so this'll come as a surprise. Maybe." At least her dad might be.
