Her icy blue eyes went around to look if there was another boy yet instead another girl took her attention when she greeted her. Nicci supposed she greeted her as she apparently was looking at her. "That's also a nice name" Kahlan mused after Nicci replied giving her own name... that meant she was doing something right didn't it? Well she was hoping it did anyway. "Welcome to Slytherin I suppose... did you want to get into this house?" she continued, figuring the answer would be a yes.
This girl seemed to fit the usual idea of a Slytherin.
And Kahlan honestly wasn't sure if she was a good thing, because if it was by those thoughts she was sure she'd be a Hufflepuff... though that wouldn't be bad because Forrest was there...

She wanted to get into this house? Kahlan gave the first year a toothy grin as soon as she said that. "Its a great house, I honestly love being in it... even though when I first came to Hogwarts I didn't know where I wanted to be" she admitted musing on her sorting from last year.
"So is there anything your looking forward to about Hogwarts?" she probed, figuring that asking the girl questions might not just get her to open up, but also stop this conversation from reaching an awkward end...

House elves were amazing cooks.
"I know what you mean, I'm starving! Though I gave Jinx her food before we got off the train so I might give her a little snack before bedtime she mused, thinking about her cat which was probably already in the girls dorm in Slytherin.

And a handshake? This one was polite and clean looking. He shook her hand and gave her a smile. “You're new too?”
Internally she was relieved that the older boy also shook hands and sent him a smile "Nice to meet you too" she returned with the same soft smile.
See she was friendly?
And not too hyper usually
Was she new? Nope. "No, I started last year as a first year" she answered with a smile. "But this year it's already looking a lot better than it did last year... and this is only the start of term feast!" she rambled, as she quickly looked down at the real plates.
"So is there any reason your only starting this year? Anything you're looking forward to?" she offered, settling herself back down as she tried to start a proper conversation.

He cracked a smile when she greeted him. "Thank you. I've always wanted to be in this house." And Gryffindor, but Slytherin suited him most. He stretched his hand toward Kahlan. "Lucian Blackwell. Nice meeting you." So...this was making friends, right?
Ooooh this one shook hands as well, previous assumptions were thrown out of the window as she reached over shaking his hand. "Nice to meet you too" she offered, a smile forming on her face.
She liked this one.
"So anything that you're looking forward to?" she asked, trying to further conversation, a smile on her face...
"Nice to meet you too" she returned with a smile, though her nose crinkled at the question that the boy asked. Did she look like she was new? I mean yeah she was only a second year but like he said she hadn't been sorted earlier on!
"No... this is my second year at Hogwarts" she offered, though her voice probably gave away that she was slightly unsure of what that question was about. "But it's your first year so is there anything that you aren't sure about? Looking forward to?"
See? She could be helpful! She knew what she was talking about!!!!!!!

And this one was also super excited to be Slytherin??? A toothy grin also formed on the blondes face, she definitely liked this one too.
There was no doubt about that.
Any young one that loved Slytherin was what she was looking for and thankfully she’d found a few of those already!
”Yeah... I was also super excited to be coming back...” a small blush crossed her face as she realized that she was admitting to something that seemed to be reserved for first years, but the grin stayed on her face. ”I guess for me the magic just never gets old, even after last year” she absently let slip, not really thinking that the first years wouldn’t know how bad it was last year with the plastic plates and utensils, layers of dust and things that seemed to move but you couldn’t exactly be sure...
Yeah she wouldn’t tell this one those horrible cleaning stories yet, he might end up running away.
”So what are you most excited about?” she asked, a grin on her face as she looked at the boy. It was a hard question she knew, last year she’d had millions of answers that covered every little thing that she’d ever heard about the school – and this year it wasn’t much different.
Maybe a bit more to be excited about though!
