Fixing her features a bit, she turned to Lottie. "I was coming to look for you."

"Of course!" Aidan spit back, "Because you don't WANT to admit writing a two-bloody-page long letter about your feelings and act like everything's perfectly NORMAL!" THERE. THAT was what he wanted her to say. "But you're right, there's nothing wrong with asking for things between freinds. But you had to go change that status, didn't you?" To 'it's complicated'. Ugh. Complicated was the word all right. To describe the situation. To describe GIRLS. "I'm not stupid for thinking it when I have proof right on paper!!"

His jaw clenched again as he looked back and forth between the two girls. "I was NOT obvious. You," eyes on Lottie, "were the only one who knew. What's obvious is that you couldn't keep your bloody mouth shut because you had something on me."
