"It's okay," Sophie said. "Really, it is." This kid had to be a Hufflepuff. Not that she had anything against Hufflepuffs, because she didn't, but she had their personality pretty much down pat. "Do you go to Hogwarts?" she suddenly and randomly asked. Well, it wasn't random to her. She just really wanted to see if her Hufflepuff suspicions were right.

"I've never seen one up close either," she said. "I mean, I know what they are, because my whole family is magical, and I've heard about lots of magical things. I've just never really seen one." She perked up then said, "Once, my grandmother had her class dissect them." Looking at them in the little bowls now, though, they didn't seem right for dissecting. At least not the ones in the little bowls being advertised as pets.

Did she want to give it a shot? "I don't know. I'd like the challenge, but I don't really want a plimpy. If I win one, though, you can have it if you want," she said.
