Ella's attention turned to the door as the Minister walked into the room. Finally. As he spoke, she retrieved a piece of paper and a pen from her purse and began taking notes of what other department heads and employees were saying. Once they were finished, Ella raised her hand briefly before standing up.
"Ella Wellington, Magical Creatures Department Head." For those of them that didn't know her yet. "Minister, my first encounter with this... illness was back before the holiday break. And it was actually Kensi who I first saw drooling," she gestured towards the sickly woman, "and it was indeed in the food court. However, I don't think we know enough information to single out the cafeteria as the only source. That is why I have ordered my Albino Bloodhounds team to take the dogs around the Ministry and have them sniff out every nook and cranny to see if there is some small, undetectable pest roaming around and causing this illness."
Here is where she paused and let an amused look cross her face. "Now, as luck would have it, the only employee currently on my Bloodhounds team is out on an assignment and I have had to take on training my new intern by myself. When his training is complete, we will do the investigation I just spoke of."
Ella cleared her throat again and glanced at Wesley. "I agree with Mr. Ferguson and Miss Dacosta that we should quarantine those that have been infected, just in case it is airborne and we risk letting others get infected. But, adding to that," she shot a glance at Aron, "If it IS airborne, then I would suspect that more employees would have fallen victim to this. I have been around Kensi a few times during her illness and apparently there were more of these inflicted people at the Orientation, where almost all of our employees were, breathing the same air, touching the same food handles, door nobs, etcetera... I'm no expert on the immune system, but if it were airborne, I think several more of us would be experiencing the same symptoms already." That was just her two knuts on the matter. It only made sense to her. Ella gave a little shrug, and since that was all she had to say at the moment, she took her seat and waited for whoever was next to speak up. |
