Forget crying over the Anya situation, fresh tears spring up into James eyes at what Landon said to him. He bowed his head in shame. The conversation was supposed to be about landon, but James had turned it back around to himself.
"I'm sorry" his voice was a hoarse whisper again, and he tried to keep his bottom lip from trembling. But he couldn't, and a few tears rolled down his cheeks. "Why don't you go talk to someone who isn't going to turn the conversation to themselves like I did?" he said. He was bringing himself down, something he had promised his family he'd stop doing.
Landon watched as James started to cry more and he frowned. He didn't want to do that to his best friend, he just got mad a little too easily.
"I just wanted to talk to my best friend, that's what, I can't talk to someone who isn't. But I guess I could try to talk to Melanie." He said, scratching his head.
He walked over to James and ruffled his hair.
"Alright, stop crying. Man up, you're awesome. And I'm sorry." He said, giving him the cookies again.
"Eat these. Now. Or else I'll leave them in your bed in the dormitories tonight and crushed cookies never taste all that great." He shook his head. It was true. They really didn't.
