And yes. She knew that voice without even looking.
"Treehitme." she said without looking up. She then clutched her knees against her chest for several seconds. Then she groaned and sprawled out across the ground.
"I. Can't believe. I didn't see. A TREE." she said in a completely defeated tone staring up at the sky.
She lifted her head up a little and cast a sideways glance at Milton. "I'm mental. Completely mental."
And then she dropped her head again and continued her stare up at the sky in her oversized sweater. Why? Because... she just ran into a tree. Andddd... her shoulder kind of hurt. The tree... hit her? Milton stared at her as she clung to her knees on the ground. What in the world had happened to her?
"Anya..." He spoke softly and crouched down next to her, obviously concerned for her well-being. And not just because she ran into a tree, but because she looked... mental. Like she said. While laying on the ground.
"What happened to you?" he asked quietly. He wasn't even sure if he was asking her specifically, or if it was just a general question. Then he dared to touch her. Milton reached forward and gently grabbed her wrist.
"Come on, stand up." Because laying on the ground was neither safe nor sanitary. And he was seriously worried about her.
