But...maybe it was fine for a bit. She did have something - or technically someone - to give him anyway. So she turned to look up at him and actually internally had to fight off a smile when she saw him grinning. He was...happy to see her? "Hi," she said, before pulling a little box, inside which was their egg. Couldn't just carry around an egg without any protection, right? It'd get cracked if it wasn't inside something. "Here's Eggbert. I forgot to give him to you on the train." For obvious reasons. Well, she didn't sounds as excited to see him. But it was okay. Jake was beginning to get used to it, considering she'd been that way since... yesterday. But oh well. Penelope was probably grinning on the inside as much as Jake was on the outside.
Plus, she had Eggbert! So she couldn't possibly be upset with Jake. "I was wondering what he was up to," Jake said with a light laugh as he took the box from Penelope. He checked inside, smiling proudly when he saw the white chicken egg wrapped up safely. He closed the box and tucked it safely in his bag. He'd set it on his bed when he got back to his dormitory. "Crazy train ride," he commented, looking back at Penelope. Sure, he'd talked to her after the train, but not very much. The feast had been sort of chaotic for him. "Glad to see you're alright, though. And Eggbert." It would have been all too easy for the poor egg to get smashed in all the commotion.
Anywho. Mini golf! Jake motioned to the ground. "Were you going to play?" |
