Alyssa listened as the other students gave their answers. 'Wow, profound question. Was Plato a wizard or not?' Alyssa thought to herself. She listened as the the others gave their opinion and nodded in agreement with some of them. Then she raised her hand and answered.
"Professor I don'l believe that Plato was a wizard. He was a great mathematician, philosopher and even studied alchemy which many people believe that if you did, you must have be some kind of wizard."
"However, I believe that he was a muggle who may have known people who were wizards but he kept their secret to himself."
"If Plato was a wizard, being as wise as he was, I'm sure that he would have used his abilities to do more than what he was famous for doing. Like someone said earlier, we all know Merlin was a great wizard because his abilities were known by everyone far and wide."
"I don't think Plato would have been able to keep his magical abilities a secret if he had been a wizard. It would just have been impossible to do so especially when he was already well known and all his achievements were already under scrutiny."
"When he wrote about the existence of Atlantis in his papers, his knowledge about the place stemmed from the accounts of someone named Solon who himself reported that he met a priest in Egypt who has translated the history of Atlantis. Where that priest got his knowledge of Atlantis from, no one knows."
"As for Atlantis, even if Atlantis was a magical city, there really are no accounts of Plato actually visiting it, although it may have been a possibility. We just have to remember that anything he wrote about it was told to him by other sources."
