"You were eating fish out of the lake?" As in the lake right outside the castle? The very lake that was home to the giant squid and who knows what else?
"Why would you do that? I'm sure the house elves could have prepared fish for you if you wanted it that bad." And that fish was most likely fish that wouldn't have come from the disgusting lake right that was visible from the window of her office.
