Kennedy returned from the library exhausted. His tie hung loose around his neck and his sleeves were rolled up to his elbows. He had been reading about dragons and their scale use. It intrigued him the many uses of it and frankly, he wanted a pet dragon.
If he asked his father, would he get him one? The man was trying to buy Kennedy's attention so...yeeeeah. Hmm, he would have to try that one.
He sat down and set the book he brought with him on the seat beside him. He would read that before going to bed. Kennedy stared at the soft flames in the fireplace and his eyes began to droop.
Sierra knew she shouldn't have these butterflies in her stomach. She shouldn't, but she did. She'd never been this nervous around Kennedy Escalante, but then again, she never really talked to him when they weren't with a large group of people. What was she saying? She wasn't even talking to him now. She'd just come up from the girls' dormitory and seen him sitting halfway across the room.
Finally, she decided to at least walk over and take a seat nearby. Maybe she'd talk. Maybe she wouldn't. Maybe she'd just let Kennedy fall asleep, and then she wouldn't have to worry about it. No. She was no Hufflepuff, and she'd so the Slytherin thing and walk up and talk to him.
"Take it easy, Prefect," she joked, taking the seat next to him.
"You're not letting them wear you out this early in the year, are you?"
