It was kind of cold. That was really the only thing Ellie noticed at first. She was standing in front of the gate, staring off into the forest. But finally, a movement caught her attention and she saw the familiar shape of a thestral. Then she realized there were tons of thestrals. How had she not noticed them before? They were everywhere, right in front of her eyes. By the... where was she?

Oh. The front gate. Right.

Ellie vaguely remembered actually leaving the castle and walking all the way down the grounds to the iron fence. She didn't even know why she was here. Ellie leaned up against the fence and held on the the cool metal bars as she watched the peculiar animals. They seemed so... graceful. At peace. Much more so than Ellie could imagine being. Ugh.
