Next Ella needed some more soil, enough to cover the little seed and fill the remainder of the pot. She smiled. When she was younger, her mother used to call this part putting the seed to bed. She got the soil she needed and covered the seed until the pot was full. As she patted the soil down gently, she whispered, "Goodnight little seed. Grow strong." She looked up to see several students glaring at her but she didn't care. She was just doing what her mom had taught her and she smiled and shrugged in return to their stares.
