With a yelp, the cowardly lion jumped a good few feet into the air in fright. With his heart in his throat and brown eyes wide, the boy stared at the creature until he realized it wasn't another evil forest thing out to get him, but a person instead. And not just any person. It was
Ellie!
Immediately, the boy's expression broke into a happy grin.
"
Ellie!" he called back to the girl, who had by now caught up with him. Wow. When had been the last time he'd seen her?! It felt like years. She looked just as pretty as he remembered her, too, though her eyes seemed to grow even bluer during the winter.
"Fancy seeing you here..." he muttered. 'Cause yeah, y'know, they totally didn't go to the same school and everything. So this was totally unusual.
Just as Ellie caught his attention, she saw Braeden leap into the air. For a second she thought he was just really excited to see her, but then she heard the scared yelp and knew that that probably wasn't the case. She giggled a little at his reaction as he finally realized just who she was.
By then, she was in front of him.
"Hey you! Long time, no see." Ellie grinned and gave the lion boy a hug. She missed him! Seriously, it felt like they hadn't seen each other in years. And he looked like he grew a foot. Either that or Ellie shrunk, but she was just short anyways.
Ellie laughed at his comment. Fancy indeed.
"Yes, it's quite stra-HEYY." Ellie suddenly realized.
"I need to have a word with you, Mr. Stonem." She said with a serious nod.
