He stated, nice and simple, minus the nice part, and it wasn't simple either, so, never mind.
"And for making you feel guilty as well, it's not something I ought to be doing," wasn't he supposed to be making her feel better about everything that was going on around her? That's what friends did, and he wasn't even doing that.
He was hoping that Ellie would let this go and not start another disagreement.
Plus, he was making her frown, on top of it, "You clearly care a lot more about Quidditch than exams...so I suggest you only worry about what you care the most," just like he worried about her, of course, but he didn't say that, she'll just say he was being ridiculous again.
There. She cared more about Quidditch.
He smiled again.
"I'm not saying you shouldn't practice at all." That was amazingly true. "One last thing...," because he was done with Quidditch for good, "...your only job isn't JUST to catch the Snitch. You've put together a strong team...," all on her, yes? "...and I don't want to hear anything else about it." DONE with Quidditch.
Until his...favorite Ravenclaw won, right?
Ellie watched him with utmost curiosity.
"Because I don't think you should regret something you wanted to do. This was obviously on your mind." Obligations? Yeah, those. She didn't really have any, did she? Captaincy, maybe. But that was still only one.
"It's not...Guilty's not the right word, maybe... I just feel bad that I gave you reason to think that." That wasn't how she thought of it at all. She spent all her free time practicing, yes, but...to her....it wasn't free time that she spent with Treyen. It was special time.
Meh. She rested her elbows on her lap and buried her face in her palms. Weren't they done talking about exams?
"But it doesn't matter what I care about. I still have to take the exams. I'm still not ready in the slightest to take them, but I have to take them anyway. I'm going to worry about them..." AND Quidditch, of course. But the more she worried about Quidditch, the less she worried about exams. The less she worried, the less she studied. The less she studied, the less she was prepared for exams. Then, she realized just how close they were, how ill prepared she was, and it only made her worry MORE.
It was a conspiracy.
Sigh.
Treyen was right. He wasn't saying she shouldn't practice at all. Yeah...right.
"But during an actual match, that's all I need to worry about." Frustrated was what she was. With herself.
But, yeah, Treyen, let's not talk about Quidditch anymore. Because it wasn't like
she still wanted to talk about it or anything...
