Marie stood up quietly and took Matty's hand following him out into the entrance hall. She didn't like this awkward silence they had going on here. It was like her fears were coming true... Matty was pulling away from her, probably because of some stupid thing she did. She seemed to have a way of screwing up the good things in her life. Or maybe it really was because of her father and he just didn't want to tell her that.
Once they reached the steps Marie stopped. She wasn't ready to go down them just yet. It meant they were getting closer to her common room once they started that descent.
Sitting on the top step she pulled him down with her. She had to do something to break this silence that was going on with them. She knew he wanted to know what was bothering her she just didn't know how to tell him.
"You know what this weekend is?" Okay, so that wasn't her telling him what was bothering her but if he knew what was coming up then that could lead into her telling him what's wrong.
