There was something rather odd about this girl. Taryn had decided it immediately, it was a sort of on and off side to her. Rather peculiar, if you asked her. Which, no one did enough!
"Not so often." She shrugged, "I'm still in a bit of a learning stage myself, but my dear grandmother, bless her, doesn't much care for such things." And of course her father was adorable, but mostly completely clueless about everything that did not have to do with business. "Lotion is easier than makeup, though, there's no learned technique to it."
Yes, Sierra
was rather fond of her name. No one she knew had the time, so whenever she heard it, she was sure people were referring to her. It was unique, and therefore she liked it. Even though it meant something boring like
mountain.
"Hmm, Taryn," she repeated. It reminded her oddly of tearing paper or getting ripe in your stockings. Now she's always think of stockings when she thought of Taryn Hayden...
"You've got a nice name, too," she added. She grew quiet as she listened to Taryn talk about make-up and lotion. It made Sierra miss the parts of being a teenager that she'd taken for granted years earlier. Not having a mother sort of took a lot of the experiences away from her.
"How old are you, Taryn?" she finally asked.
"Thirteen? Fourteen?" If she was thirteen, Sierra was going to start feeling way behind when it came to growing up in general. Did this girl even go to Hogwarts? She hadn't seen her around, but then again, Sierra wasn't exactly the world's best social butterfly either.
