Now this was Samira's heaven! Beauty and hair products. Samira didn't wear much of any makeup on her face (she preferred natural beauty) but it was so fun browsing. Hair products. That was what Samira needed. Samira prided her hair as being one of her favorite attributes about herself. Dark, curly, and shiny, she absolutely loved her hair. Therefore, she wanted to take care of it to the best of her ability. Roaming the aisle, she looked at all the products. She needed something that smelled really good. Like strawberries, or flowers.

Josephine was happy today, she'd thought it was gonna be sucky but it was actually nice here.

And she'd made a new friend.

Yay.

....Okay, and now her new friend was scaring her. She bit her lip, eyeing Lola as the slightly older girl stared at her. WHAT WAS SHE STARING AT ?! Josephine looked down at her feet, shifting from one foot onto the other, waiting for Lola to stop staring at her in that scary way, or for her to atleast say something; she'd prefer the first option though. And she spoke! Okay, she only said one thing but it was still speaking. She looked back up for a few seconds before looking back down noticing that Lola was still staring at her.

She was scared.

Pardon ? did she want her to repeat everythign she'd just said ? "Uh...Zorry do you want me to zay eet again ?" Hopefully not, she didn't really remember what she had said, it had all just sorta flowed out of her mouth. She nodded as Lola repeated the fact that she had brothers, she did have brothers..

"Oui, I do. Two of zem." Although she hardley ever saw Cyp until this summer.

"mmm. Not really. I know you are, what about zomezing I dont know ?" she smiled, she needed to know stuff about Lola too if they were going to be friends. Call her Jo ?"Of course you can." she smiled. Uhhh, she'd stick to calling her Lola, if she wanted that of course. "Is zere anything you'd like to be called?" she questioned. "Um oui, well Im ztarting zis term. 'Ow about you ?" she hoped Lola was going to Hogwarts. hehehehe.

So this was the shop what Josephine was telling Chandler about. The beauty shop which could CURE his ugliness! He was excited about that because then at least he wouldn't be so ugly and Kaia wouldn't secretly be disgusted when she looked at him and anyone wouldn't be disgusted either so everyone won.

He stuck a very large grin on his face as he walked up and down the aisles. One thing that the boy knew that he wasn't going to go to the make up part of the shop, he didn't need make up to make him look handsome, did he? Make up was for GIRL and Chandler Montague didn't want to look like a girl. He was a boy and he was going to stay that way thank you very much.

Now WHAT to buy exactly? He could always get a dozen of those beautifying potions but he knew that wouldn't be enough. One hundred of those was more like it. That would cure his horridness.

*Matilda entered the shop because she needed the rest from her first year school supplies list and she walked around the shop and finally she came to the right shelves*

Matilda: Great here they are all what I need.

Finally Virgo had the time to go shopping for her beauty products. Most of her products at home were nearly finished and it's time to buy a new batch. First stop is the hair products. She took out 2 Apple shampoo and conditioner bottles. Next, SOAP!!! She went straight ahead and saw the aisle where all the soaps were placed. It smelled heavenly. She took a box of peach Scented Bar Soap. Moving a further more were lotions. She took out a bottle of Strawberry scented lotion.

She looked at her cart. Next stop... make up!!!

Lola couldn't help it! French people! Ahhh French people. Now she would have to continue interrogating this girl to the core--does she eat snails? Does she not bathe? More and more friendship could lead to her learning the world and culture of the sly and cunning French people. But again, why would she scare off this girl away and then NOT have any Frenchies to study from? Hmm? No. She realized her creepiness was starting to set in and thus, controlled herself.

"I'm sorry, what? Oh no no, darling! And yes, continue on about the brothers, please," she grinned. Lola tried to make that grin appear natural, but her excitement grew more and more. AND TWO!

This was a present. This was a three-in-one present, and for that, Lola was forever thankful for Merlin's beard that this had happened.

Jojo kept trying to go back to the part about where they had to talk about her and again, Lola just showed an unnatural grin of discomfort, insisting that they drift away from this subject COMPLETELY, PLEASE. Yes? Yes. "Well. If I can call you Jo... you can call me Lo?" She laughed and giggled to herself, quite delighted that she'd made such a joke. If it was even a joke? Whatever. "Really?! We're going to be HOGWARTS BUDDIES!" A fill of laughter filled the air again, "I'm starting this year too!"

Josephine. Had. A. Friend. This was sososososososo awesome. And she had a friend, like real friend. PSSHT. She'd had friends before, imaginary ones atleast, and well...Kai and Leo but they were Chandler's friends...well she wasn't so sure if Leo was anymore, but still. Now she had a real friend, a real friend that wasn't made up and would be nice to her and they could tell each other stuff! .......not that Josephine had secrets or anything, nothing that she hadnt already told to her diary *mellow*

"Uh..nothing. Oh uh...okay zen. Well my eldest brother, Cyprien, we usually call 'im Cyp. 'E lives in London, and uh..Im staying with 'im over summer, and 'e 'as a little boy, Blaise. Well 'e's a baby actually but uh...im not zure who ze mother iz because 'im and 'is girlfriend Kah, havnt been dating zat long...not long enough to 'ave a baby...i dont zink.." she admitted, with a slight shrug of her shoulders. "And my other brother Chandler, 'e started 'ogwarts last term and 'e loves eet, and 'e 'as a girlfriend, Kai. Shes awesome." Josephine finished with a firm nod.

She couldnt understand why Lola didnt want to talk about herself, she was asking her to talk about herself but then she wouldnt talk about herself, it was so confusing. Josephine wanted to know about her friend too, sigh. Oh wells. "Ookay zen, Lo. ...Zey rhyme." she giggled, quite proud that she'd noticed that although it was pretty obvious. "Really. YEY. Zat zounds like TOTAL FUN!" the younger girl beamed, the smile remaining on her face. "Zats coool, what year are going to be in ?"

MOOOOORE INFO YES!

Lola was happy that this girl wasn't one of those people that didn't spout out any of their personal info to some stranger they met five minutes ago--no, she was very open about herself and this would lead her to more ... cultural information. AND OH LOOK AT THIS! Her brother had a luuuuuuuuurve child. This girl's life was almost like a book after hearing this, and Lola was reading it. Did she have an estranged mother? Did she have a long-lost twin sister, shipped to sea--and then reunited ten years later?!

Merlin's beard this was ... "I see, I see! Tell me more! C'mon! Spill it aaaalll out," she said a bit creepily but just nodded her head. Hmm.

AND SEE?!

She giggled at her tiny little joke.

Friendship. TRUE Friendship.

"Yes, it'll be TOTES fun! TOTES!" And she thought for a moment. "Well, I'm fouuuurteen years old. That means I'm a fourth year, yes? I'm sorry. I'm kinda new to the school," she said, and then dragging away from that subject again, she stared at Jojo. "Well, what brings you here to Primpernelles, hmm?"

hehehe. This was so fun.

Josephine liked the idea of having friends, she wanted to have more friends, although Lola was awesome so if she only had Lola as a friend she wouldnt complain. Having more friends would be cool though. They could all GO places together! Like Chandler was with his friends, he'd gone somewhere with them this summer but she couldnt remember and probably wasn't listening when he'd told her where he was going; it sounded like fun though!

Tell her more ? Josephine bit her lip. "My older brother, Cyp, I mentioned 'im before...'E doesnt get on with my father and 'e 'asnt lived at 'ome in ageeees. But I dont know why, no one will tell me. And we 'ave a dog, Miles, 'e's Chandlers but ...i share 'im. And Tuslant is our families owl." she nodded, she'd never sent an owl to anyone before but Tuslant was still hers too.

Josephine giggled again as Lola did.

"Oui, eet will. Ive never 'ad a friend before." she admitted looking down to the floor for a few minutes. "Im Zirteen." she nodded, "And uh...Oui, I zink you will. Im going to be in my zird year." Mhmm. She was. "ummm. Weeell. I need some shampoo, and maybe zome stuff to make me...pretty....'ow about you ?" making her pretty ? she thought that was an impossible task, actually she knew it was.

OHHHHHHH MYYYY.

Look at all this family drama. Look at this poor poor Josephine. And Lola loved it. It was gleaming in her eyes, that fiery gleam that probably would have made the girl take a small step back. Hehe. "Really? You're not joking? At all? My my Josephine," she said, as if to sympathize, and held her hand even tighter. Yes, she wanted to show how much she loved this girl, how much she NEEDED to study her very life!

"Never had a friend?" Lola frowned. SUCCESS! Being this girl's one and only friend--well that was easy. "Not anymore." Her plan should work. Her plan must work because well, befriending a girl with no friends was just too easy for Lola Jones. She did continue to pity her--family drama, no friends, what next... honestly, she couldn't think up of anything sadder than this girl at the moment.

It inspired her. It truly did.

"Third year, huh? Well that sounds fun!" Her third year at that other school brought back ... memories. Ugh. "Shampoo? Stuff to make you pretty? Jo, you're already SOOOOO pretty and beautiful." Lola was winning this girl over. She knew that. Complimenting her and the likes. It was a sure win, of course. "Haha, I'm here to buy some stuff for Vel--I mean, someone!" Ugh. No. Change the subject, Lola, change the subjeeect.

"So, is Hogwarts fun?"

Blink. Blink. Blinkity blink.

Josephine was confused.

Okay, so there was nothing new there, she got confused ALOOT.

The young girl cringed a little as Lola tightened her grip on her hand, not that she minded or anything, it just hurt a little bit 'cos she only had little hands and she wasnt used to people squeezing them. EEP. But she wasn't going to say anything incase Lola didnt want to be her friend anymore, she didnt want that. nope, that would be baddd. "Really, uh non Im not joking." why would she joke about this ? and she wasn't a very good liar anyways, sigh. That sucked too.

"Umm..non. Im not very good at making friends, and im lame...zo no body wanted to be friends with me." Fair enough to them, because if they WERE friends with her then she'd like...make them lame too and she didnt want that. That was why she'd hung around by herself at Beauxbatons, Chandler used to fight people a lot and she didnt like to see that. "Hehe. Zanks." she smiled, did that mean they were uberly officially friends ? YEEY.

"Oui. uhh..Yeah eet does, Fourth year zounds like fun too." she smiled. "Yepp or my 'air will go all weird and greasy." ew..."And non, im not. Im ugly, I wish I was pretty...like you." she replied, with a small nod of her head. "Vel ? Who's Vel ?" the younger girl questioned, maybe it was her sister or something that would be cool.

"Umm..I dont know, I told you im starting zis term." mhmm. she was.

"Oh you aren't? Hmm."

Josephine was one of the most pitiful people she'd ever met.

And that was why Lola loved her. That was why Lola needed to become this girl's very best friend. Oh she would have left by now if she just met a regular, average-life'd French girl who had no emotional trauma and was a popular witch. "Lame? Darling you AREN'T lame at all! Why would you think that? You're amazing, darling, simply amaaaazing. I mean, only the cool people can be my friends, hehe." She had to get this girl's freaking trust and friendship once and for all, right? And so she will, even though she might have already got it.

"Me pretty? Look at me," and then she posed as BEAUTIFUL&SEXAY as she could, "I'm downright ugly." She was definitely not the first person to lie about her appearance, get complimented, and feel satisfied, am I right? No she wasn't. "Just," she placed a hand on her delicate face, "sooooooooo ugly!"

Lola was a fourteen year old girl. She quite needed this lot of attention.

"But look at you, Josephine. So beaaaaautiful. Your hair's lovely. Your face is lovely. BEAUTIFUL!" She must have felt FLUSTERED, that was about right. Sucking up to this girl was not as far as she could go. "And Vel? OH VEL IS NO ONE, DARLING!" She nervously giggled and grinned, all secretive and the such. Who is Vel? Vel is no one at all. And she dragged the girl around, trying to distract her attention yet again.

"Oh. Right. Well I bet it'll be fun!"

"Nope. Im telling ze truth." she didnt lie, not very often, not unless it was TOOOOOTTAAAALLY necessary.

Which most of the time, it wasn't.

She didnt mean to lie, like when she'd cried and told her father that she'd never have friends if she didnt move to Hogwarts, he hadnt believed her but she'd obviously done something right 'cos he'd let her move in the end. yey. And now Lola was lying. sighhhh. With reasons, but still lying. Frowny face. "I am Lame. Im like..ze lamest person ever," 'cept she didnt know EVERYONE in the world so there mightve been someone lamer than her, but she doubted it. "Non, im not amazing. But Zank you." Lola was amazing, Josephine knew that for a fact.

"Oui, you pretty. Very Very Very pretty." Like Kai. Kai was pretty too. "I am looking at you." she nodded. "Your not ugly, your really pretty." she giggled as Lola posed. "Loooooo. Your not ugly, your reeally not. You just need to believe in yourzelf." Oui, that was what she had to do, it was.

"I cant, because I dont 'ave a mirror and I dont want to break a mirror." she'd heard that was bad luck, she didnt want any bad luck. EEEP. Vel was no one ? that didnt make any sense. "But umm...if zhes no one then why are you buying 'er stuff ?" if she didnt exist then Lola was wasting her money buying her stuff, eeep. And now she was being dragged. Josephine squeaked a little as Lola began dragging her around because it startled her. mmm...not because she was like a mouse or zomezing, 'cos she wasnt.

"Mhmm. I really 'ope zo." she wanted it to be WAY better than Beauxbatons.

Now THIS was the kind of place Taryn could get lost in. In fact, she had, on more than one occasion, when Grandmother was busy getting her hair done, spent up to an hour perusing the shelves. She ALWAYS left with something that seemed to be so grand and exciting at the time.

Some times, these purchases proved to be duds, while others, diamonds in the rough. Overwhelmed, she closed her eyes and picked up the first thing her fingers touched....

Sierra Greingoth pushed open the door to Sugarplum's Sweet Shop, looking down, of course, in an attempt not to meet anyone eye to eye. She wasn't in the mood to be friendly today. Or the next day. Or possibly even the next day after that. She'd found that looking down until the split second she had to look up worked wonders in not having to speak to others.

Once inside the door, she veered to the side, where she knew the chocolate frogs were displayed. She'd taken a liking to them over the summer, whereas before they were just an 'every now and then' kind of thing for her. A few seconds later, she finally looked up, spotting the...

...lotion right away. Wait...

"Lotion?" she said aloud. What happened to the chocolate frogs? The jelly slugs? The... Oh. How in the name of Hades had she ended up in Primpernelle's, the most disgusting place in Diagon Alley? She paused and glared at the girl standing next to her. She better not make some idiotic comment about Sierra's questioning of the presence of lotion. Nope. You better not, strange girl...who oddly looks my age.

Having had her eyes closed, she had not seen the girl walk in and command a presence that clearly suggested she would rather like to be left alone. Taryn wasn't sure if she had seen, she'd have bothered to speak with the girl at all, but, as it was..

"Lotion is something that you put on your skin, dear." She replied sweetly, though not sickly sweet like cake, eugh. "It makes your skin soft." She was sure that this girl did not need a lesson in skin care and was smart enough to know what lotion was, but she seemed so surprised about it! "Have you ever bought any here?" She went on, as if they were old friends, "I did, a few weeks ago, it was supposed to smell of lilies and apples, but I think someone added a wrong ingredient, because it really smelled of dirt." Rather odd, wasn't it? Hmm.

She thought on that for a moment and glanced at whatever was in her hand. Pumpkin scented bubble bath? Who wanted to smell like a pumpkin?! What a silly waste of a secret guessing turn!

Sierra drew in a sharp breath and froze in place. Merlin, she'd attracted someone's attention...somehow. Lotion. The girl was talking about lotion? Oh, ...right. Because Sierra just had to walk into the wrong shop by accident and question the presence of lotion instead of chocolate frogs. She remained frozen in place, thinking that maybe, just maybe, the girl would shut her trap and move on some place else.

...but no. That was clearly too much to hope for.

"Dear?" she asked, moving her eyes toward the girl ever so slightly. Who was this girl, her grandmother? "Okay, you know what? I know what lotion is. I know what it does, and I even know that sometimes it has horribly putrid smells like cucumber melon. I just...wasn't...expecting it to be here. That's all." Deep down inside, Sierra knew why she hated this store. It wasn't because she hated lotions, make-up, and all that other pretty stuff girls were supposed to like.

...it was because she didn't have a mother. Not really. Not anymore. Therefore, she didn't have anyone to show her how to use the products Primpernelle's sold. She took a chance and eyed them, trying not to appear too curious yet satisfying her need to look all at the same time. "Sounds like someone needs a lesson in potions," she commented. Dirt-smelling lotion?! Eww.

"Would you rather I call you something else?" She asked, completely non-pulsed by the girl's reaction to her comments. She HAD been a bit cheeky, but it was all in fun. "What about your name?" Surely the girl had a name.

"You're quite right about that. How dare they try to pass off something like that? It was quite pricey too." But that was all the fuss Taryn was going to make about it, she didn't want the shopkeeper to over hear and toss her out! What a horrible impression that would make! She would have to do major damage control after a situation like THAT. "It's a rather good thing that my poor grandmother seems to be losing her sense of smell, she quite likes the lotion." So, see, it wasn't sitting around taking up space in Taryn's room, and she was content with that.

Oh, Merlin. Not only had she attracted another person, she'd attracted a talker. She would rather the girl not call her anything at all. As in, just let her be. Let her get out of this dreadful place they call a shop. The girl had asked for her name, though, which was a vast improvement from Dear. "Sierra," she finally said. "My name is Sierra Greingoth." Was she meant to ask the girl for her own name, as well? Ugh. Politeness bothered Sierra. It made little to no sense. "Well, go on then. Tell me yours."

Sierra made a face at all the lotion talk, though a part of her was still a little curious. "Do you...wear lotion often?" she asked. "...or, make-up maybe?" She looked away, not quite confident enough to ask the girl these questions when looking her in the eye. Sierra had made up her mind, though. One of these days, she was going to ask her father's girlfriend to teach her a little about lotions and make-up. She was sort of...maybe...missing that part of growing up.

For some reason, the name Sierra took Taryn to a mountainous place, with majestic tall trees and fresh air, "Oh, what a lovely name." She replied, managing not to gush. "My name is Taryn Hayden." She added, since the other girl had been so polite enough to ask.

There was something rather odd about this girl. Taryn had decided it immediately, it was a sort of on and off side to her. Rather peculiar, if you asked her. Which, no one did enough!

"Not so often." She shrugged, "I'm still in a bit of a learning stage myself, but my dear grandmother, bless her, doesn't much care for such things." And of course her father was adorable, but mostly completely clueless about everything that did not have to do with business. "Lotion is easier than makeup, though, there's no learned technique to it."

Searching for another addition to the little package Sinead was making for Brighid, the first year found herself at Madame Pimpernelle’s. Her mother bought make-up here, and sometimes gifts. The make-up counter looked promising, but Sinead had no idea what colors Brighid would like, and she remembered that her sister swore by Muggle make-up brands with silly named like “Soreal”. As for herself, Sinead did not see the appeal of make-up of any variety; it was a pointless expense. Her mother and sister would laugh at her when she voiced this opinion, patting her head and say she’d understand when she was a teenager. Maybe she would, but for now she decided to ditch the make-up idea and look at the other products.

This aisle smelled incredible, much better than the Apothecary or Eyelops or even Quality Quidditch. Scents of ripe fruits and hints of Butterbeer wafted around as Sinead picked up bottles of shampoos and conditioners and lotions. After plenty of internal debate, Sinead settled on a bottle of melon body lotion.

Yes, Sierra was rather fond of her name. No one she knew had the time, so whenever she heard it, she was sure people were referring to her. It was unique, and therefore she liked it. Even though it meant something boring like mountain. "Hmm, Taryn," she repeated. It reminded her oddly of tearing paper or getting ripe in your stockings. Now she's always think of stockings when she thought of Taryn Hayden...

"You've got a nice name, too," she added. She grew quiet as she listened to Taryn talk about make-up and lotion. It made Sierra miss the parts of being a teenager that she'd taken for granted years earlier. Not having a mother sort of took a lot of the experiences away from her. "How old are you, Taryn?" she finally asked. "Thirteen? Fourteen?" If she was thirteen, Sierra was going to start feeling way behind when it came to growing up in general. Did this girl even go to Hogwarts? She hadn't seen her around, but then again, Sierra wasn't exactly the world's best social butterfly either.

Taryn had picked up a bottle of apple scented shampoo, and twisted the lid off to take a sniff. Ooooooh. That was lovely! "Thirteen." She replied, offering the bottle to the girl, "Do you like apples? This smells lovely." She went searching for the matching conditioner, "How old are you?" She LOOKED to be the same age, but perhaps she was a midget? Sometimes, one could never really tell until one put their foot in their mouth.

Hands on her hips, Lauren observed the crowded aisles of the shop feeling rather overwhelmed. Her eyes shifted from bottles of lotion, to the haircare, to the make up which she was slightly familar with. But certainly not familar to be comfortable!

Quickly, she made a mental list: Shampoo, Conditioner, Eye Shadow, Eye Liner, Mascara, Blush and Lip Colour.
Surely that was it? Right?

And then she saw a bottle which demanded her attention, so she slowly mouthed it's name in awe Butterbeer Bubble Bath?! "That sounds incredible!" she grinned, reaching for a bottle and having a sniff. Hey, maybe smelling good will be a good thing, she told herself.

Lauren quickly looked for Orchid to show her what she'd discovered, surely she'd love the smell also. Who doesn't love Butterbeer, right?!

Orchid smiled at Lauren as she picked up something in the hair care aisle and smelled it with a huge grin on her face. Rolling her eyes Orchid looked up and down the packed aisle until she saw Lauren searching for something. "What you looking for?" She asked wanting to be as much help as possible.
