She immediately plopped down in the window seat Theo suggested for her, nodding as he asked if that seat would be alright. "Yeah, this might be for the best," she murmured absentmindedly, her large blue eyes cascading worriedly over to Bree. And though she wasn't all that great with cats, over the past couple of months she had come to trust Bree to an extent. But the real comfort was the knowledge that Theo would surely have an eye out to make sure little Jay wasn't attacked. She gave a soft smile as the bluebird flew over to sit on her shoulder, quickly growing distracted as Emma then entered their compartment.
"Hey Emma," Alfie greeted with a soft smile, glad to see her Slytherclaw friend before they all got back home. It was only as Theo stood up to help Emma with her luggage that the blonde seemed to realize she'd completely forgotten about her own suitcase. Letting out a sheepish chuckle, she stood and glanced up at the above carriage. Hmm. Sure that her small frame wouldn't support throwing her suitcase over her own head very easily, and not wanting to make poor Theo lift everybody's stuff, the little blonde quickly took out her wand and murmured a spell to levitate her luggage up and into the overhead. Grinning rather proudly at her handiwork, the little Ravenclaw plopped back into her window seat, glancing out of the window curiously. "I can't believe we're already going home..." she muttered softly, then turning her large blue eyes back to the other two in the compartment. "Theo's already assured me he'll keep in contact," Alfie started with a bit of an amused smile. "But I better get some letters from you too, Emma! Jay and I hate being ignored," she warned playfully, jokingly narrowing her eyes at the Slytherin girl as though threatening her with the wrath of her bluebird should there be no correspondence.
Alfie being Alfie and therefore unable to keep up such an act, the girl let out a chiming soft chuckle just a moment later and flashed the pair a grin. "But really, I want to hear about your summer," she explained softly, her expression much more Alfie-like, then realizing that most of the luggage had been put away. She then glanced up at the boy who was still standing, giving a warm smile as she softly brought her hand up to grab a couple of his fingers, tugging at his hand very gently as a silent request for him to sit back down at her side. Aww, that was too kind of her fellow Slytherclaw friend. Now, Miss Emma Astoria Malfoy wasn't usually the one to just sit around and let others do stuff for her. No, she had a reputation to keep up. What reputation? Emma gave Theo a warm smile and shook her head, " Thanks for the offer Theo, but I can do it," she said, winking at Theo as she watched Alfie use magic to put her own suitcase up. Ah, now that was a good idea. Why hadn't she thought of that? Ravenclaws. I swear. Pulling out her own wand, the blonde pointed it at her suitcase, used a charm, watched it as it floated up to the rack, and rested gently at the top. There we go. All was good in the world of Emma.
The Malfoy had a whole seat to herself! Well, until someone else came of course. She wondered when the rest of the gang would arrive. As Emma took a seat on the opposite side of the compartment and looked out the window, listening to Alfie as she expressed that she couldn't believe they were going home. The blonde sighed and turned her brown eyes towards her friends. " Neither can I. This term went by too quickly. And next year Alfie, you and I'll be fifth years and you, Theo, will be a seventh year. Merlin's Beard. We can't waste a moment of fun next year!" exclaimed the Malfoy. Yeah, they were going to make next term last. She didn't want to have to say good-bye to her friends then or right now.
Better get some letters? And Jay and her hate being ignored? " Nice to meet you Jay," said Emma, before pausing to answer Alfie's question. Smirking wickedly, Emma chuckled softly. " Of course you'll hear from me. You just both better right back too. Or, when I take over the world, I won't be too happy," said Emma, trying to come up with a good punishment. Yeah, last time she gave someone a punishment, the person said she ended up rewarding that person. Figures. Beaming a happy smile at her friends, she went on about her own summer. Well.. Summer. The Malfoy was having a busy summer. A very busy summer. How would she begin to answer this question?
" Well, I'm going to the Quidditch World Cup. My brother's playing. And then I'm playing Quidditch, going to Portugal to learn Portugeuse on an exchange program, visiting family, and hopefully hanging out with you guys at Diagon Alley. Oh and yes! I'm having a get together for all of us at my house and you are both invited. I just have to owl the letters!" exclaimed Emma all in one breath. The blonde paused to take a deep breath and then looked at the two Ravenclaws. " So, what about you guys? What do your summers hold for you?" she asked, dramatically. And as she looked over at Alfredore's side, she spotted Bree, who looked as if she was taking a nap. Reaching into her bag, Emma pulled out her camera. Mwaha.. She'd take pictures... Lots and lots of pictures.
Theodore sat down, defeated, as his girlfriend had outwitted him once again. He wasn't the type of boy to take offense when a girl did something better than him; rather, he admired dear Alfiana even more for taking such initiative. He still felt like the luckiest boy in the world for having fallen for a girl as intelligent, strong-willed, and as beautiful as she. If not for her, he'd probably still be a lost, Americanized transfer student. With her fingers tugging at his own, he was putty in her hands and would do whatever she wished, even if she had wanted him to sit down on a seat made of snapping lobster claws that wanted to have his pants for dinner.
"Oh, that sounds... great, Emm! Really." Theodore was glad to see that she was doing better and wasn't putting on a show of joviality, or so it seemed. Where on earth was Brae? Or Ruby, even? If they were together off in some solitary compartment, Theodore felt the urge to punch them both. Well, maybe not Ruby because who knew what limb she would tear off and Theo didn't hit girls or anyone, really, even in quidditch, but Braeden for sure. His girlfriend was here, so why was Ruby suddenly the center of his attention? For once, Theodore felt like he had more bawls than his favorite Gryffindork did. If something was really changing in the dynamic of Brama and Braeby, Theodore felt like the mature thing to do for the trio would be to talk it out and if worst came to worst, for Brae and Emma to split up. That was better than the silly games that they were playing for the moment. The worst part of it was that summer was just around the corner: would they all want to pass two whole months in emotional distress because of the childishness?
"Plans? Erm..." He scratched his chin, side-eyeing Alfie and resisting the urge to wink as a smirk came onto his face. "Well, besides us hanging out," He playfully elbowed the small 'claw in her side, their fingers still intertwined, "I... I don't know. I'll definitely try to make it to your shindig, Emm. I wouldn't miss it for the world. And... maybe you could help me brush up on quidditch?" He laughed lightly, but on the inside thoughts began to swirl around as if caught in an emotional tornado. Alfie and he had promised to see each other, but the logistics seemed a bit tricky and risky. What if, on his broomstick, he was caught in a summer storm on the way to see her and was struck by lightning? Not as if it would keep him away, but it would put a damper on their festivities along with a number of other obstacles in their possible traveling paths.
Theo involuntary gulped with minor worry. He had been wanting to do something for a while but hadn't mustered up the courage to do so. He hadn't ever done it in his life and was waiting for the right moment, and now was the last moment that he and Alfie had before they lost each other on Platform 9 and 3/4 when finding their respective families. Would it have been a lie to say he had practiced in his mirror with his pillow? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, something had to be done. And the nervous adrenaline pumping through his veins told him that the time was right. There was no time to check his breath, his hair, or his shoelaces. "Hey," He addressed them both, his voice surprisingly cool and controlled, "I think I want to take a trip to the food trolley before it gets too crowded. I don't have enough pockets to bring everything back, so... would one of you...?" Squeezing Alfie's hand, she was the obvious choice for the mission. It would have been quite awkward if Emma had agreed to go, considering what was on the boy's plan for the jaunt to the trolley. Emma would keep company with Bree and Jay; with her camera in hand, she looked like she would have fun with the two animals. And if Brae miraculously showed up, Ruby-free or not, even better.
