"Do you have a quill or something?" he hadn't noticed if she had brought a bag with her, so he thought he might as well ask.
O_o Well then, that was settled. Dal smirked at her reaction to him suggesting she went to bed. "Alright," he said with a laugh, "I just don't want you to feel like you have to stay up with me." He had a feeling that he would be up really late tonight; he didn't know why, though, but he wasn't tired in the slightest.
Leaning the side of his face on the back of the couch, Dal thought about her question. "No," he answered thoughtfully. At least he didn't know of any plans. And considering that his family hadn't gone on a real vacation in years it wasn't likely that it was going to happen now. "I'll probably do the same thing as usual... surf, swim, and spend every minute possible on the beach." Which, after spending months at Hogwarts, sounded especially inviting.
"What about you?"
She stared down at the number while he explained, and nodded. "
Okay. I have to consider the time difference as well," She closed the book and put it on the far end of the sofa with the quill on top of it. Louisa looked back at him and raised her eyebrows in surprise, "
You spend the whole time on the beach? That sounds like... summer," She chuckled, "
I don't get to spend much time there. I haven't been to the sea for two years actually," She said thoughtfully, frowning slightly, "
The last time I went there... I found out that I was a witch," a story that used to annoy her but now she felt indifferent to the whole thing.
She nodded in agreement at his 'good luck', "
I do need it. And 'whoever' is Aunt Brown. She's my stepfather's big sister: Old lady, isn't convinced that there is something called real magic, and forces me to act like a lady.." Rolling her eyes, she pointed down at her crossed legs underneath her, "
..if she ever saw that I sit down like this in public, she would get a heart attack," Scoff, "
I don't like it there. She had no one living with her and when mom and Jason.." She paused. Taking a long moment thinking about it, she spoke again, "
Jason's my stepdad. He's raised me with mom ever since I remember life. I have two younger brothers, Jason's sons." Louisa looked at Dallin with a small, fake smile, "
I'm not allowed to be around them much. Not until 'I control my magic'," she made quotation marks in her fingers, "
Muggle parents SUCK when they deal with their first magical child," in case he was wondering.
"
So, yeah, I'd rather go to Florida than stay at Aunt Brown waiting for Jason to let me see my brothers," She said it playfully, but a hint of bitter was blended in. She loved Jason and made a decision to understand his motivation to 'protect' his sons.. but sometimes, she just wanted him to understand her back.
