Then the explosion happened. He really wasn't expecting it but it- along with Neptune's raised voice- came out in full force. Backing away a bit, Legend slowly took in the question. Neptune...didn't get it. But it made perfect sense to him. "Cause....I didn't propose to just any girl. It was Katie. I- I don't flirt with Katie." Did he? No. That was weird. "We've known each other for so long and so well that really it wasn't some mushy feelings sort of moment. It was really just a question after I told her that I loved her." It made sense to him, and Katie, just not the rest of the world.

Really, Legend? Really? He was going to debate the necessity of Queens with her? Neptune gave him a flat look, but didn't debate it further. She simply knew she was right.

But the smile was back when Legend agreed to visit her. "Do you mean it?" Legend did sometimes just tell her what she wanted to hear. Neptune couldn't handle more false hope.

Neptune listened, not interrupting or even blinking really, while Legend explained. When he was done, it seemed all she COULD do was blink. She wasn't put into Ravenclaw for her looks, so the pieces all seemed to fall into place before her. "And you still... you would be with her if you could. But she won't because she thought you cheated."

Neptune .... just stared across the room at Legend. She was basically in the room with a stranger.
