Carter laughed and hoped Marie didn't spot a slight tint of red. "That is not the point." he said still chuckling. Even though he did have lots of fun. "But it's fun. I like it." he said referring to his nice girlfriend. "You know... we talk about friends" not people we want to punch "And family... Her family actually invited me over during the summer." Which, was a first.
"Oh. Believe me. I would have deserved it." he said referring to being punched. "In fact... it probably would have helped get rid of the potion." he said. Because... Patroclus begging him to remember Marie not Destiny had worked sooo well.
He smiled when she said she'd changed in the past two years. "Well... being best friends with a Hufflepuff is something that I didn't expect to happen." he said. Not after the big rivalry with Kay anyway. He was actually kind of excited about getting to know her again. He missed the girls over the past two years.
Lost in memories he took his last bite of ice cream. He smiled. Maybe this term would be nice, normal, and relatively sane.
He then looked over to Marie. "So what do you think?" he asked. "You think we'll be able to be friends again?" She seemed skeptically before. But he thought the conversation was going rather well. And the fact that she actually showed up for a midnight snack had to mean something, right?
Finishing off her cheesecake Marie laughed a little.
"Don't sound so surprised. I can be friends with people from other houses you know. Sure, there are a few 'puffs I could do without, but Mia made me see that not all of them are bad." In fact there was one in particular that she was rather fond of... even if she had broken his nose as a way of introducing herself.

"You LIKE it... because you talk about friends..." And just how long would it be before he kissed
her friends? Oh and her family invited him over. Well now, guess that beats her almost
losing her family because she dated him.
"Well isn't that just... nice. I hope you had a great time." With the nut and her family.
"You know, you can date all the blonde snakes you want... " Looking over at him she had to ask...
"Carter, are you only dating Caroline because you're trying to replace me?" She felt a little stupid asking but come on, the girl sort of looked like Marie and they were in the same house. Maybe it was time the boy moved on to a different type of girl, like say... one from his own house, that wasn't blonde.
Looking from her empty bowl to Carter, then back to her empty bowl, she thought about his question. Could they be friends again? She wanted to be friends with him again, she just didn't know how realistic it was for that to happen. Looking back over at him she sort of shrugged her shoulders a bit.
"I don't know Carter. I'd like for us to be friends again... I just don't know how realistic it really is that something like that could happen with us." She looked back down at her bowl and started to play with the spoon that was in it.
"I'm willing to give it a try if you are though."
