The new professors were ministry improved? How had Alice been missing these things?! "That is a frightening thought...it would be scary to think about having another Umbridge at Hogwarts since we know how well that went the first time. I wonder why the Ministry is interfering though...I mean, what's the need? Other than that boat nothing about Hogwarts has really changed." Alice shot another look out the window, this time a feeling of uncertainty rising in her. "Do you think the Ministry knows where Professor Welton is and they're just not saying?"
Wait... that was ALL that need improving? "Alice, since the Ministry started getting involved last term... what has needed the most change around here is our lack of magical education. We spent an entire term learning about Muggles. And if that is what we wanted, we would have all attended Muggle schools. Really. I mean, it's useless to spend a DADA class period talking about Muggles, is it not? Lord Borr... MINISTER Borr, is now our DADA professor and has chosen not to even show up at the school to do what he calls teaching. He owled in a list of physical exercises for us to do all term long," she explained in hushed tones as she took on a more serious look.

"We are not being taught properly. At all. It's outrageous. We should have been learning to cast a Patronus charm or something as opposed to listening to talk about a cult and having an entire class period interrupted by a Ministry Liason." She was not so keen on Mr. Ikenna now that she had a bigger view of things. It was disgusting to her that she had not seen the bigger picture earlier.
