The Gryffindor briefly watched to see who responded before he then turned his attention back to his own exploration, still wondering what the smell the Slytherin had first noticed indeed was.
Oh! Look! It had been Simon all along!

Awesome. Not that they were lost or anything, they'd barely walked as much as to get lost. Still, how much light did the Quidditch Captain want, anyway? His own eyes had grew accustomed to this lighting, kind of.

Either way, Treyen increased the amount of light that was coming out of his wand, happy now, Simon?

No, she was NOT there. Luckily, too, apparently. "I suppose not," she shrugged. But REALLY it was a good thing. She could barely handle Matilda, let alone an Acromantula.

So Sierra didn't think it was Stryker either? Hah. Outnumbered there, Treyen. About her theories, Ellie nodded, "Yeah, but, I doubt anything's true."

And this was where Ellie wanted to say 'up'. As in back. As in on shore, in the castle, and maybe eating chocolate or something. But part of her wanted to stay on, and keep going while she was already there. So, she stayed silent leaving Sierra to choose, really.

Hearing a kid ahead of them telling them to light their wands, Ellie did so. Just as Conan arrived. ...Was that a good idea? And, yeah, where was his wand? She could care less if he didn't believe in magic, he should still have it with him, out and ready.

Was he cold? Mann. Why was he out if he was cold? ODD child, that one. Sigh. "Hi, Conan..." Take out your wand. Do it.
Fine, Ellie, FINE. The boy didn't even say that she'd been right about one specific part in case the ship started to sink or whatever, because that wasn't happening anyway. "It doesn't matter," that was his reply. But he wasn't replying to anything the girl just said, it was more as to let the subject drop.

Luck was NOT going to be on their side if the 'sinking' thought was still around.

How come it appeared that Ellie was glad she never took part in that lesson? "You...," he started to say, tilting his head to one side, "...you aren't afraid of spiders, are you?" there was always the chance that she just didn't like the eight-legged creatures, and he was hoping that was the case.

Ha. At her comment on the ship, he had to chuckle and shook his head. There was no way to know if her theories could be right or wrong, or some place in between if she didn't share them, no? He didn't push it, though.

And she knew Conan?! How did she know his favorite Hufflepuff, eh?

A few paces in the Slytherin lad turned back to hear voices descending from the hatch. He squinted and turned his wand slightly, hearing Simon advice them to cast the lumos spell. "Treyen?..." he was pretty sure he recognized the young Puff's voice and a few more whispering and chatting from the group confirmed Sierra, Ellie, Conan and the bubbly Slytherin girl whose name escapes him. "And yeah watch your step." He added, trying to pretend that it was someone else who made the ruckus at the ladder earlier.

He turned back to Simon and ventured forward a few more paces until he stopped suddenly. "Pheeew!" he huffed, waving his free hand trying to clear off the odor "Its getting stronger whatever it is... just couldnt put my finger on it." he whispered audibly. He raised his wand higher and tried to look around claustrophobic area, looking for something "Doesnt this place have some sort of torch or something?"

Oi! May not be the best suggestion if he could only recognize what was causing that stench....
Haha. Yes, they'll watch their steps. No problem. Treyen walked closer to the Slytherin boy, "Salander...," he started to say, and frowned upon hearing him say 'torch', "...what do you need a torch for? We have wands, and...I don't think it would be wise to light a fire, after all, some ships used to carry gunpowder back when...ships carried it." Yeah, way to appear smart, Lockhart. He didn't even give any time period or anything.

Sierra hadn't realized the older girl had come with them, but that could have something to do with the fact that they'd all climbed down a really dark flight of stairs to get here.

"You don't...think that's going to happen, do you?" she asked Ellie. You know, the ship sinking. Tough she could sometimes be, but she was no Gryffindor. She'd leave the daring nerve and bravery to the guy up ahead--Simon, she thought his name was. She briefly eyed the stairs but then decided it wasn't worth it to turn around and go back. She'd already gone this far.

Her eyes followed the light of Treyen's wand as he suggested the different directions to go in. She noticed he didn't suggest up, meaning he didn't want to turn around and go back either. She didn't want to open up any barrels. They might explode, and well...yeah, dying just wasn't one of the options she wanted to consider at the moment. What was that Headmaster Tate always told them? Don't die. Yeah, that was it.

With a shrug, she answered, "Right." It seemed like the right way to go. Or, it sounded right, at least. Had he winked at her? Yes, yes he had. Treyen Lockhart was going to drive her insane this school year! Then, just because two could play at that game, she winked at him and said, "Well, ...go on." With her wand, she gestured in the right direction.

Was Conan down here, too? It was hard to tell from just the light of her wand. ...and where was Salamander and the Gryffindor captain?! Hearing voices was easy. Seeing faces was not.
What?! Why was Sierra bringing up that subject? Treyen HAD to intervene, "It's not, the ship won't sink, Sierra, don't worry about it," like, really, don't worry about it, Treyen will save his Slytherin, no?

As Sierra considered her options, his eyes managed to focus on the floor, and how amazingly loose the pieces of wood seemed to be, maybe there was something hiding underneath, like a monster that was waiting for more Slytherins to feed on.

Er, yeah, that wasn't going to happen either.

As soon as the girl replied, he looked up, just in time to see her wink at him. Funny. He smirked. "Actually, I think right is the opposite direction from Salander and Simon," but they could head right, he had no problem, at all.

They could divide and conquer different parts of the ship.
