Tate glanced at the young Hufflepuff with the camera, pausing a moment to let his image be captured. "Well, I don't speak Mermish. I suppose we'll have to wait for someone at the Ministry of Magic to come out and try it for us."
He was in no hurry to involve the Ministry further.

I mean Sir,Oakey started (he almost just called him Tate. Oakey was so used to calling SHAW!, "SHAW!" now that he almost did it to the Big Man In Charge.)
My name is Oakey sir, and Captain oops I mean Professor Vindictus appointed me to be his ships Navigator was he even following what Oakey was telling him. Well, he just told me I can look at the maps carefully. But I'm having trouble reading them cause they're so old. It might tell us where this ship has been or where the crew was headed.
He was gonna ask him if the Captain's Log would have that kind of information in it as well, but Oakey had left Mordred to that task. So Mordred could ask him about it.
Where had Mordred gone to as well, He always disappears on Oakey?
"You're welcome to look at the maps," Tate nodded. "Carefully. But I'd like to gather up any papers we find and send them on to our historian friend. I think the safest way would be a personal delivery." That last statement was aimed specifically at Max. He knew exactly who Tate meant.

The Head Boy was a bit of a blooming idiot, and Tate would have to take him to task soon. Fighting in the corridors and carrying on like a ruddy first year. Sigh.
But still... this was a nice peaceful break for them all. "It was a good idea to invite them to join you. Well thought out." Pause. "Would you be willing to deliver the papers to Zan?"
