His train of thought was cut off when he heard Vindictus make his displeasure known, the captain almost chuckling at the fate of whoever it was that had gotten the reaction out of him. Nothing like the familiar yell of the deputy headmaster to jopefully set the younger students straight. Staying back a bit to avoid crowding, Simon watched as the young Slytherin tried to light her wand like the professor had.
"Not quite the spell," he said quietly to her trying to reassure her it wasn't her wand. "But you'll be taught it eventually."
Peyton looked up at the older Gryffindor and her pout disappeared. The light wasn't an automatic wand thing? Apparantely not AND she was going to be taught how to do the light thingy. Peyton nodded and grinned. She had chosen a good
body-guard person to follow.
She then looked over at the professor...

"Dead Wizard's Trove," he repeated and walked over to a table where a cool-looking worn leather tricorn hat lay. He picked it up and began to examine it. "Never heard of it."
And he put the hat on his head.
He had not answered her question.
Pfft.
Dead.
That word caught her attention and her brows furrowed, worried what that book was or meant.
O_O
Ah! He put the hat on after he said NOT to touch anything.
"You said not to touch anything," she said in disbelief of the professor breaking his own rule.
"What if it's cursed and makes your hair fall off?" that was a possibility. Plus, the older Slytherin dude HAD said not to touch anything they might regret later.
See, she did listen to rules.
