He figured he will get lost in this castle eventually, and he better get help from their Prefect soon.
Mordred looked again at the picture of his parents and he smiled. "Just like what I told you. Mum loves clothing, and if she finds me wearing something lousy or worse, tacky she'll be irritated. At times I'd think it's an advantage to have a mother with a sense of style. At least I won't be walking around like a fool, but most of the time she'd pick out clothing for us that is quite uncomfortable. I hate wearing shirts that feels like it's gripping my neck. Unfortunately, I was wearing one that night." he said pointing at the picture. "Yes I do have a camera, but it's inside my trunk. Mum wants to see how Hogwarts look today. I can tell she misses this place so bad." he said looking up at the enchanted ceiling. He then remembered his father charming his bedroom ceiling to look like the night sky to help him sleep. He then realized that this will be his first time to be away from home. "So, what about your parents? Are you close to them?" he wondered. He can't help but think of his parents now. "I wonder how they like the idea of me being far away from them." he thought. He felt a sinking feeling when he thought about them.
Miles away from Hogwarts, Alrdrich and Morgana Mordaunt wonders too about how their only son is holding up on his own. 'I haven't met the Gryffindor Prefects either, but I'm guessing they should be taking us to our common room soon.' the girl replied. 'So what's Vincent like? Friend-material?' she asked, chuckling a bit. 'Yes, I suppose you're lucky. Most wizards dress like crazy, I think Muggles are a lot more experienced in this department. But your family has an air of sophistication rarely seen in our world.' Ari said. 'Do you think we'll also miss this place after we graduate? I do, I suppose it's going to grow on us since it'll be our home for seven years.' she expressed her opinion. 'I'm sure they miss you, wonder what you're doing, how you're settling in.' Ariadne replied. 'Mum must be doing the same. And yes, I have a very close relationship with my mum, she's the best. But my father...I never met him. Just saw him on Muggle TV at my neighbours'.' Ariadne finally confessed, wondering what Mordred's reaction would be. 'Look, I think the feast is over and we can go to our dormitories. Five more minutes of chat and then we get going?' she suggested, supressing a yawn. Quote:

"I'm from Canada by the way, but I'm half-British. And yes, very happy to be a Gryffie! I think the prefects will lead us there soon. I can't wait to see the common room, start classes, and earn points for Gryffindor!" 'I live in a small village in Yorkshire, with only two other wizard families around.' she replied. 'Canada? Wow, how did you get here? From Canada to London, and then took the Hogwarts Express like all of us?' Ariadne tried to guess. 'Me, either. Look, I think they're coming now, and we can follow them to our rooms, so let's go!' the girl said, with renewed excitement.
