Marie sat there in her favorite chair staring into the fire. Everyone was at the feast so she had the common room to herself. Normally she would be at the feast too but this year she couldn't bring herself to go. What happened on the train was too painful for her to be around others right now... especially Finn, who was now her ex-boyfriend. She may have told him she didn't love him but she knew in her heart that was a lie.

She really wasn't sure what to expect this term now. She hadn't seen or talked to Evelyn and Destiny all summer and she really missed her best friends. She needed someone to talk to about... things. As far as she knew, no one even knew that she had broken up with Finn, unless he told them at the feast which she highly doubted. He didn't even seem one bit bothered by the breakup. For someone supposedly loved her he sure had a funny way of showing it. He didn't even try convincing her not to break up with him. It was like he was happy about it.

Yeah, so much for love. He got what he wanted from her and now it was time to move on.
