Absolute ludicrousness. Neptune wasn't going to deny the pull between herself and Jim and how they couldn't ever shake each other off or quite get over all their junk. But Marie was a fool if she thought breaking up with him would make him HAPPIER. And TOTALLY brainless if she thought Neptune would be able to make him happy instead.
Everyone knew that.
"You ask the impossible of me. That's so unfair. How about YOU do ME a favor and go tell him you were kidding?" Hmph. Neptune crossed her arms and more or less glared at Marie.
Marie stopped and spun around to glare at Neptune.
"I was his... in name only Neptune." She walked back over to the sink and leaned against it again.
"You were right... what you said in the hospital wing. There are worse things than being hidden and unclaimed..." She bit her lower lip a little then looked over at Neptune.
"..Like being claimed and knowing you're not the one he really wants to be with." As much as she tried to deny it, she couldn't do it any longer. She seen the look on his face and how he acted around Neptune. There was no denying that
she was the girl he wanted to be with, not Marie.
"I'm sorry Neptune, but I can't do what you want me to do. I can't tell him I was kidding. I can't lie to him like that." There had been enough lies in their relationship, they didn't need anymore.
"I really did mean it. I want him to be happy with the girl he loves... even if that girl isn't me." She truly believed that if she stayed away from him then he would be able to look inside his own heart and figure out who it was he really wanted to be with... Neptune.
