Amadeus couldn't help but smirk at his own nonsensical antics. When did he ever act this silly? Maybe the stress of everything that was going on towards the end of his educational career had killed a few of his prudish brain cells. Turning toward the Hufflepuff, he nodded at her statement. "And," He continued, trying not to roll his eyes, "Jacob has us practicing nearly daily. Although I'm sure you're working your team just as hard." He had to resist saying much else; by all rights, the captain of the team that he was to face in the final match of the season should have been his enemy. Oddly enough, she wasn't. The way things worked out sometimes puzzled the Kipling boy to no end.

Melanie nodded sympathetically, detecting the note exhaustion in his voice. She
felt the way he talked. Strangely, Melanie didn't mind having her time filled. She certainly preferred it to utter boredom... And knew how important it was for her future that she continued to be busy with both Quidditch and school. Perhaps not as busy as Amadeus, though.
"Outstandings?" she repeated in disbelief, eyebrows arching up at the Ravenclaw's statement.
"...On all of them?" Like, really?
"Are you sure you aren't setting the bar a little too high?" Melanie suggested, eyebrows going up a little.
She shrugged when he mentioned how his Captain kept him busy. That was only natural, with the Championships coming up. Melanie was fully intent on keeping her team busy up until that point too, of course. And, you know...
"Busy can sometimes be alright." she pointed out. Of course, when Melanie said that, she was talking more about the Quidditch kind of busy than the schoolwork kind of busy. Not that Amadeus could know that.
