She didn't want to make a scene and start crying here, and for once in her life she wanted to blend in the crowd, so nobody would notice her. She looked up at Selina, shaking her head slowly. Before she could be stopped, Elyon darted out of the kitchen, her braids flying behind her, trying to get to the common room as quickly as possible. She had to find Christopher so she could read that letter. She didn't even start skipping at all! She had to know what her mum had to say. This couldn't wait.
"Elyie!" Selina called after her. But it was too late the small girl had already flown out the door. In a moment of frustration Selina yelled, "God!" and kicked the cabinet. What was she thinking? Elyie was the sweetest person ever. Whatever the contents of that letter held were not good, she could just tell by Christopher's face. But it was too late to stop what was in motion. The only thing still moving now was the bowl that Elyie had dropped on her way out- still spinning on the ground.
