She should read Witch-Weekly. "Er, it has been awful--sometimes--the measures the Wizarding Community has taken in order to maintain the Secrecy," so, really, this was nothing, nothing at all.
He eyed Vashti, surely she'd have a better way with words. He could only do smiles.
True. "I know, that's the weird part, right? They've never been at the trolley before," surely a Seventh Year could come and clarify it?
Pffft. No need.
But he'd been right about one thing. Vashti did have a way with words. She managed to explain to Kurumi much better than he had. And now he actually wished he'd never mentioned the cupcakes to Kurumi, because Vashti was not the one meant to have one of those.
Jake was. Quote:

'Cause, well, generally the food trolly was only for food, candy-type food specifically. They didn't sell Daily Prophets here, did they? New and a bit alarming? Where had she heard that before? Had she never seen a Quibbler before either? And were the articles in it really that bad? Vashti looked at the word, or rather, group of words, she was pointing at and was about to answer when Treyen cut in.
Kurumi! That was the girl's name! That's right, Vashti remembered it quite clearly now. Wait, he had cupcakes? He wanted to go to the trolley when he had cupcakes?
But she tried not to think about the food right now. There were more interesting things to talk about for the moment. "i'm not sure 'allows' is the right word," she said thoughtfully. "More like 'makes sure they don't find about us and magic.'" Kurumi didn't think it was a good statue? "Why not? I mean, it was passed to stop all the witch-burnings and things like that where the Muggles were mistreating witches and wizards. And I think it also helps stop prejudiced witches and wizards from constantly and publicly torturing Muggles because they don't want to go to Azkaban for breaking the Statute." Unless they were, like, really insane. Then those prejudiced ones probably didn't care whether they got sent to Azkaban.
Kurumi thought long and hard about what both of them had said. The boy had one of the cleanest most sparkley smiles she had ever seen, but he certainly didn't really have a way with words. She still felt like she had seen that picture somewhere in all the reading she had done...Anyhow, when Vashti spoke things became a lot more clear. Spoken like a true Ravenclaw. " That makes sense," Kurumi nodded, but her thought immediately went to her mother. Perhaps it really was best that knowledge of the wizarding world didn't get out. If all non-magical people reacted to it the way her mother did when around Kurumi and her brothers, there would be chaos that would wreck havoc on their villiage and cause so much more pain and suffering. " They probably would take away our wands..." she said sadly not really making much sense she was sure to the other two.
